EFCC admits receiving petition on Osinbajo’s firm by Mrakeli: 6:07am On Jul 14, 2019
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said yesterday that investigation into an alleged N100bn Alpha Beta scam involving Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s firm is ongoing.

EFCC in a statement by its acting Spokesperson, Tony Orilade reacted to a story in the Punch Newspaper of Saturday, July 13, 2019, titled: Osinbajo’s firm linked to company fingered in alleged N100bn Alpha Beta scam.

The statement reads: “While not denying the fact that such petition was received on Alpha Beta by the Commission last year, preliminary investigation has shown that the petitioner did not substantiate the allegation contained in his petition.

“For the records, the Alpha Beta investigation is ongoing and we have nothing to hide over the matter. If the petitioner has any further proof with regards to the petition, our doors are wide open.

“As a tradition, we do not deal on hearsay, we act on facts and raw data. The Commission will not allow anybody to drag its name and reputation into the mud for ill-motive reasons.”

grin The allegation will only be investigated if Osibade wants to liberate himself from the forces controlling him and definitely he would be found guilty.

Then the petitioner should send proofs and make it public.

So EFCC wont be able to deny anything.

That is common sense and simple enough but as usual the chronic idiots called opposition just write for wiring sake.

Imagine them shouting Herdsmen killed the woman but the driver said Masked Men.

So Herdsmen now use mask to follow cows around so cows won't recognize them.

If Evans and his gang are yet to be arrested they will be called Herdsmen too.

After receiving the petition, what next?

But thinking out loud, I think this is politics.

After trying to pitch Tinubu against Buhari by producing election materials in his name, they are on Osibanjo with corruption case in a bid a taint the man against 2023.

They will still cook Fashola's own.

The three men with the potentials to challenge for APC ticket in southwest.

How would you say the former MD of a company did not substantiate an allegation..

We saw the binded multiple page documents sent to EFCC with dates and details..

To those saying its politics above, it's your hard earned money that is being stolen, if not for anything atleast demand for investigation.

The cabal wants to implicate the VP, Yemi Osibanjo.

Serves him right though. He sold his conscience since he joined his principal, PMB to lie to Nigerians.

By the way, what is the EFCC doing concerning the videos showing Governor Ganduje accepting kickbacks in United States Dollars from contractors? That case should have been treated and dusted by now if they are not following a script.

When it's Yahoo boys you hastily arrest and parade them before commencing investigations. What happened to arresting and parading tinubu and osinbanjo in cuffs and boxers?

Few responses above shows that Nigerians are their own problem. A petition was written and sent to EFCC. The so called antigraft agency claims the petition doesn't comes with facts So, they expect the petitioner to do their own findings for them? You have received a petition for Christ sake, why not act on it?

Funniest thing, hungry bleaked future children above are already saying it's politics. Nigeria and Nigerians are not worth your one second.

They clearly said they are still investigating the claims even as the the petition had no substantiated accusation.

Well one cannot deny the role of politics here, but the fact remains that VP needs to clear his name. Indeed the timing is suspicious.

Moreover it's like people also forget Punch is (or used to be) proAPC, but seems they've taken a volte-face in recent months.

The game is the game. They will keep throwing out his name here and there. By next year you will see articles on osinbade and tinubu on their corrupt practice to quash their dreams of contesting for the presidency. It's the game. Fear north

This is ridiculous. So the EFCC expects private individuals to do their work for them (investigation) on any matter that concerns this useless government and the APC? But if it is the opposition PDP and yahoo boys, the EFCC is quick to "swing" into action on its own, with or without substantiated evidence!
