It was Saturday, Nanya had gone to the beach with Louis, they held hands and walked together towards the sea shore, they stopped few kilometers away from the river and sat down on the floor, Nanya built a castle with one of her legs covered in sand.


"Babe, you know we have not really talked about our families, i think this is the best time to have that discussion" Louis said caressing her hair.


"Uuuum, there is nothing really to know, Dad died after my 1 year I.T and i couldn't go back to school, we are just two, i and my younger sister who is twelve years old, so you see, there is nothing to know" she shrugged.


"You never talked about your mom, and all the time i come to your house and meet her absence, you always tell me that she travelled" Louis said kissing her hair.


"About my mom, she is bad news, that is why i don't talk about her, she is not worth it" she said turning her neck to look at him.


"How is she a bad news?, explain to me" he asked confused.


"Do you know Mrs Charity Obidinma?" Nanya asked licking her dry lips.



"Mrs Charity Obidinma the owner of love and affection media company, the biggest media company in the whole of Enugu state?, is she the one you are referring to?" he asked raising a brow.


"Yes, she is my mom, but she acts like she adopted us, she treats us like housemaids, that was why i left her house for her" she hissed.


"It is a lie, how can she be your mother and she let you sell bedsheets along the road?, that is not possible" Louis said shaking his head.


"What is my name?" she asked.


"Your name is Nanya of course" he replied with bewilderment.


"Nop, my full name" she asked again.

"Nanya Obidinma, wait, you share the same surname with her, are you really serious that she is your mother?" he asked covering his mouth with his palm.


"That is the only thing i share with her, apart from that, we are strangers to each other" she scoffed.


"But why were you looking for an apartment when you could have stayed in her house?" Louis asked after a while.


"Babe, this woman practically told me to leave her house with chisom, that she was tired of seeing our faces around, I had to leave" she shrugged.


"This is preposterous, I have never heard of such a thing before" he sighed.


"Please forget her, she is dead to me" she hissed.


"Did she tell you why she treats you guys like that?" he asked further.


"Nop, when Dad was alive, he kept on saying that Mom was angry with him and not i and my sister, but now, dad is dead and she is still maltreating us" she replied.


"Waao, who will i pay your bride price to then?"


"You will send it to my account of course, who my mother epp?, was she there when i was suffering?" she replied in anger.


"you are funny, but that is by the way, till then sha" he replied with a smile.


"So let's talk about you then" Nanya said caressing his chest while keeping her head on his shoulder.


"Well, am 27 years old, i studied business management in school, but i had passion for designing though while in school, am the only child, Mom and Dad got separated when i was 15, something about Dad cheating with another woman, so since then, it has been just i and Mom" he shrugged.


"Any ex girlfriend or ex fiance or ex best friend, infact anything ex?" Nanya asked the one question she had always wanted to ask.


"Oh yeah, two ex girlfriends, and one fiance, when i was a student i dated two girls, it wasn't serious, but when i met Betty and decided to marry her, everything was working fine until she woke up one day and broke up with me without a reason at all" he sighed.


"OMG, am sorry babe" she replied increasing the intensity on his chest.


"What about you?, any ex of any kind?" he asked.


"No, not at all" she said with a smile.


"Louis?, is that you?" someone called from behind.


"Betty, wh.. what are... you do..ing here?" Louis stuttered in fear.


"Is she the one you replaced me with?, have you told her the truth yet?" the young lady asked chewing gum.


"Betty not now, please leave" he pleaded.


"What truth?" Nanya asked jumping on her feet.


"Ask your boyfriend, you need to hear it directly from the horse's mouth" she giggled happily going away.


"what was she talking about?" Nanya asked placing her hands on her waist.


"Don't mind Betty, she can be like that sometimes, she is crazy" he replied nonchalantly.


"Are you sure Louis?, if there is anything better let me know now ooo" she said pulling her left ear with her hand.


"It's nothing babe, am telling you" he replied sweating.


"Please take me home, it's no longer fun here" she said walking towards the car.
