Please, for someone heading to Ecuador, and planning to pass through Brazil, is a Brazilian transit visa required?

If airport transit (aka not going through immigration and onward flight is from same apt/international terminal) then you DONT need a transit visa. You therefore only need a flight connection within 24hs of landing at Brazil apt.

If you onward flight is from another apt or from the national side of the apt (aka you need to go through immigration), then you will need a tourist/transit visa.

If you plan to go to Ecuador by road (from Brazil) then you need a tourist visa

And how can I know if the onward flight is from another apt? By asking the airline, right?

It should be written on the flight details, tickets ... Apt code should be the same and terminal too... Or ask your travel agent for the travel details.

Rio has 2 apt GIG/SDU, São Paulo has 3 apt GRU/CGH so be careful...

A big smile on my face every morning as i look at my Brazilian baby and the fact that all my future children will be Brazilian (because I and my spouse have permanent residency). Knowing that in less than a year fr

It is my hope that many of my Nigerian brothers and sisters will have such smiles on their faces. Please feel free to ask any questions here and we will try and answer them to the best of our knowledge. The door to Brazil is wide open. My good friend is 7 months pregnant and just went for her visa last 2 weeks. She is Nigerian too and she was not asked any pregnancy test or whatsoever. Brazil is an advanced country and will most likely not ask you such test as it can be against your right as a woman.

Let’s keep the thread alive...

Peace

Hello, please which hospital did you use IN sao Paulo ? Have been trying to contact alot of them via email but no response and when I call most of the receptionist dont speak English.

Hello Oluwo1. São Paulo is soooooooo big and vast that the hospital you want to give birth in will depend on the area in which you find yourself. São Paulo has the longest vehicle traffic in the world and it can take time to get from one place to the other. I personally don’t recommend São Paulo. Please read my previous posts on suggested locations to give birth. If São Paulo is however your vibe then any private hospital will be fine. Prices ranges from high, medium to low. There is something for everyone. On the high side you have hospitals like Albert Einstein Israelite Hospital with Hospital e Maternidade São Luiz being in the medium range and the rest in-between.

You are not going to get much response and help by writing them an email or calling them from Nigeria. In fact, you are exposing yourself before even landing in Brazil. Brazil is different. You need to enter Brazil first and visit the hospital yourself to negotiate things. Most private hospitals if not all have birth packages. They will only discuss with you if you visit them in person.

Cheers

Thank you very much for your reply, been refreshing for days. Thank you taking your time to help with this. I'll also like to know how someone can get a nanny to help. I have contacted the Einstein hospital few days ago because they have an international desk but since you think it's better to walk in, I was just trying to book an appointment to prove at the point of entry that we are not coming in for their free health care yet since my woman is heavily pregnant.

Obviously you don’t understand what the word “fraudulent” means and you are fraudulently abusing a word you have no idea about. Educate yourself my fraudulent friend lol grin

Nice one Oluwo1. The secret is to get an Airbnb host that speaks english. You can easily do this by filtering “English hosts” on the Airbnb website or app. Your host will help answer most of your questions and even help you find a Nany. Brazilians are very nice and helpful in general. Airbnb hosts are even super nice.

Even though there is generally nothing wrong with giving birth in Brazil, i will highly suggest you wear clothing to cover the pregnancy. Brazilian airports have special rolls for pregnant women and old people. Do not join that roll. Join the regular one. Preferably travel with your partner and let him distract immigration by taking care of the immigration procedures at the airport for you. I have never heard of someone being refused entry because of pregnancy but you don’t also want to go around the airport advertising it.

I am sure you will do just fine. Keep the end goal in mind and you will sit down one day with a big smile on your face every time you look at your child.

All the best.

Next time you use this thread to coach people on how to cheat their way into Brazil your ID will be suspended.

Whether you or your supporters like it or not this is fraudulent way of doing things and it has to stop.

I think you need to take an English class lol. I first of all specified that it is not illegal to give birth in Brazil before proceeding with my suggestion.

There are free online English classes bro lol

Since you knew that then why are you encouraging him to hide the pregnancy and distract the immigration?

I wouldn't encourage you to take English language class because you wouldn't learn anything.
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by Adjo10: 12:11pm On Jul 20, 2019
Because it is not illegal to give birth in Brazil, deciding to hide the pregnancy or not is a matter of choice and not an illegality in itself. smiley
