Coldest Antarctica Antarctica is the coldest region on Earth and is covered in snow all year round. This coupled with the high wind speeds and lack of potable water, food or shelter makes it one of the most inhospitable places in the world. The temperatures have been known to fall to 100 degrees below zero. Hottest Death Valley, California, USA The valley reached highs of 56.7 degrees in the summer of 1913, which would apparently push the limits of human survival.
