Extra time not penalties. The Algerians played 120 minutes just a few days before and the Super Eagles had had one extra day of rest. At that moment in the game it was the right tactical move.

Algerians played better, they looked like they wanted to win, couldn't see the hunger in our own players, probably we were expecting luck as usual. I would have preferred local coach and local players. Local players play with hunger, wanting to prove and show themselves to the world so club can come for them. But these one are satisfied already, so no hunger. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a Riyad Mahrez’s goal from a free-kick at the edge of the box, with seconds left to play, condemned Nigeria to a 2-1 defeat and steered Algeria to their first AFCON Final match in 29 years.

Rohr told journalists during a post-match interview that it was a game of two halves, adding however that Algeria were the better side at the end of the day.
“Until the last minute, Algeria had a better first half than us, but we came back a much better team in the second half.

“Unfortunately, we conceded a goal in the last minute. I think the players wanted to go to extra-time believing that perhaps Algeria will get tired and we could win the match in extra time.

“It was a wonderful game. We lost it, so we are not happy. Congrats to the winners. They were the better team in the first half.

“We scored an own goal. We were unlucky but we came back like we have always done all the time in this tournament.

“My boys had an amazing first half. So, we deserved at that time to score a goal and I think we could have scored even more goals.

“I think we played too deep and didn’t apply enough pressure on our opponents due to fatigue on my players and the quality of course of our opponents.

“We however had some situations in the second half, maybe not clear cut chances where I think we could have scored another goal with a little more accuracy.

You failed to add the most important. ROHR HAS COACHED THR EAGLES FOR CLOSE TO 5 YEAR'S, THE COACH HE LOST TO WAS APPOINTED LAST YEAR.

Under a year, the Algerian coach was able to build a team with good flair, rhythmic movement and cohesive force - dropping the likes of Ghoulam(Napoli), Ghezzal(Leicester city), Bentalab(schakle 04), Belfodil(Hoffenheim); big name players in the country doing well abroad. But our own Rohr keeps displaying indecisiveness, poor tactical reading, sloppiness in decision making and giving out predictable outcomes. If after 5 years or more he can't even grow a local based keeper in the likes of femi Thomas or ologunleke who are our best home based keepers or even develop a game pattern for the team, then definitely he should step down. Enyeama was picked from our home front. Rohr is an expensive shit we need to flush.

Nigeria lost the match due to bad tactics by the coach, you win with a formation in the previous match doesn't mean you'll win the next match with same thing.

He started the match with 4-3-3, as an experienced coach seeing that in the first 10-15mins we were bamboozled off the ball in the midfield, the wingers had no supply of the ball and they were totally marked out, next thing said to change the formation to a suitable one, change the formation to 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 let's battle it out in the midfield.

Only Soufiane Feghouli, controlled our midfield, Rohr is down tactically, He doesn't know how to read he game, and instead of bringing in Moses Simon to shore up the midfield, he brought in Onyekuru who was nowhere to be found.

In all honesty we need a foreign coach, our home based coaches don't command respect from the players cos of bribe here and there.

Why do Africans, especially Nigeria keep celebrating average white coaches that can not even secure a first tier coaching job in their own respective countries and ended up to take coaching high coaching job of national team like the super Eagles.

2 in three year Nigerias football does not have a clear cut playing pattern
