Didn't you hear another user saying he experiences no such problems. Am sure the issues has to do with permissions which is quite common with Chinese ROMS.

That's exactly what the issue is.

All the complainant has to do is to go to whatsapp permissions settings and enable them all.

my innocent k20 pro it has been flawless for two weeks now best experience ever in the gadget world,the phone just feel like a king in the smartphone world

Anything Social that's not made in China has restrictions. That's why GAPPS are not on Chinese phones, you have to find a way to sideload it, the sideloading is efficient but not as efficient as it been integrated in the ROM/OS
