Does the the EFCC now have the power to allocate lands/landed properties to the personalities of their choice? Last time I checked, the property was forfeited to the Federal government and it became the property of the Federal government and as such, under section 297 of the 1999 constitution (As Amended) 1(3) of the FCT Act, 1976, it is only the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria or his Minister (FCT Minister) acting on his behalf that can allocate lands/landed properties in the FCT. The EFCC cannot give wat it doesn't have or the authority to give and that power of the president or the FCT minister cannot be delegated to the EFCC because EFCC has an establishment law that spells out the modalities of its activities and gifting landed properties cannot be one of such activities and if such is contained in the act, in the manner described in this news piece, it runs contrary to 1999 constitution and should be struck down. This act by the EFCC is illegal.

Meaning what? That he used his 35 years salary to built that edifice Abi? That is Y u re still where u are. When money meant for d development of the 180 million people will go into the pocket of two or three men, if by share luck or chance, government is able to wrest some of the stolen money/properties from those thieves. Moralists and over sabi will come with useless sentiment. U that is crying more than the berived, if Alex Bardeh indeed worked for the property, his family will fight tooth and nail to get it back.

Oga, leave those ones and lets focus on the positive. Agreed that all the things you mentioned are correct, let the next government fight corruption and recover them. But for this, I totally support it. I hope VON will be able to maintain that edifice. Nigerian government institutions lacks maintenance culture. That's why their buildings stinks and always in a dilapidated state. I would have preferred the building sold to a private sector person and the money use to fund community cottage hospitals and schools that will affect the masses directly than giving it to a government agency.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, handed over a property located at Plot 1386, Uda Crescent, off Aminu Kano Crescent, near Glo Mobile Network, Wuse 2 Abuja, to the Voice of Nigeria, VON.

The edifice is one of the properties seized from and finally forfeited to the federal government by the late Chief of Air Staff, Alex Badeh. According to the Acting Chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Magu who was represented at the occasion by the Secretary to the Commission, Barrister Ola Olukoyede, the hand over is a testament that the fight against corruption is real.

"If we are able to fight corruption in Nigeria concertedly, we would have fought 70% of Nigeria's problem", Magu said. Chairman of the Board of VON, Ibrahim Buba and DG, VON, Osita Okechukwu led other management staff of VON at the handover ceremony.

I am giving a special thanks to the late badeh for putting up this edifice. May God bless him where ever he is for such a wonderful contribution towards nation building. If we are to wait for government to build this house i know It would take them years and at the end they will still embezzle the money and not complete it but this man single handedly did it for the government.... thanks to badeh and his family...
