However, I see this as only quick fix. The jobs are not being properly done and in no distant future, the roads will be back to square one.

Let's commission a very robust and long lasting road rehabilitation. The contractors too need to be properly monitored and appraised.

More power to your elbow as you take Lagos to the next level.

Go to Ebonyi and see what David Umahi has done in 4 years with reduced allocation. Compare it with what that old man Elechi did in 8 years (actually the man did nothing so nothing to even compare).

However, Umahi needs to prioritize welfare of his workers. It is not all about projects.

Only in Nigeria do people see patching of roads as government achievement. We have a very long way to go.

On Thursday 30th May 2019, Babajide Sanwo–Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, signed his first Executive Order.

Part of the Executive Order directed that the Lagos State Public works Corporation (LSPWC) to commence patching and rehabilitation of bad roads to address the perennial problem of traffic in the State.

In obedience to the Executive Order, the LSPWC has commenced Potholesaggressive rehabilitation of roads around Lagos state.

Potholes and failed portion on roads are being filled and repaired all over the state.

Some roads that have been rehabilitated and currently being rehabilitated include: Ikotun-Igando road,  Point road Apapa by Keystone bank,  Ilupeju Industrial Estate by Milo Basketball Court,  Eric Moore/Abebe Junction, Surulere, Iju Road, Fagba Junction, Alfred Rewane Road, Ikoyi, Glover road junction to Falomo, Ilupeju Avenue by Ilupeju Secondary School, Mushin LGA, Allen Avenue, Ikeja LGA, Herbert Macaulay/Afrique Road, Lagos Mainland, Ogudu road, etc.

Nothing special in this. This is what governments in civilized climes do regularly. It is their responsibility. Nigerians will celebrate this because they have been so used to bad governance and oppression that they think it is special. It is the responsibility of governments to repair roads be in federal, state or local government depending on the road in question.

Let them not forget Ipaja-Ikola bridge o! It's part of Lagos!
