EFCC Arrests Immigration Officer, 14 Others for Alleged Passport Racketeering

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, has arrested a Nigerian Immigration Service officer, Adebimpe Kehinde, an Immigration Assistant, for his alleged involvement in passport racketeering.

Kehinde was arrested alongside 14 other suspected passport racketeers on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the Immigration Service Passport office, Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos, following intelligence reports received by the Commission leading to series of surveillance about their alleged criminal activities.

The suspects are: Nnadika Timothy, Oyeyiga Samuel, Sunday Adekunle, Lola Kadoso, Adebayo Damilola, Adeola Oluwafikayomi Ajiboshin, Abubakri Adebayo.

Others are: Uka Precious Ifeanyi, Raph Emeka Ibuaku, Henry Onyebuchi, Christy Odey, Aba-Peter Ajuma Blessing,Ogunmefun Oluwanishola and Busayo Balogun.

The suspects allegedly conspired to extort money from unsuspecting members of the public applying for international passports.

Items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest include: Five laptops, mobile phones and several official documents.

They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Let them come to Abuja, too many of them siphoning Nigerians their money

Send them to jail and throw away the key in the middle of the ocean....

They should have arrested one or two individuals that paid the bribe too to send a message...

Alot of people have been quoting me, I am not a defender of crime and I will never be part.

What i am saying in essence is that, majority of these guys arrested might be people who snap, do photocopy and computer typing for people.

I once had a job there as a computer typist for 20k per month for graduate, but had to ignore the job, before God did something better.

What if these guys are innocent at the end, how would they feel after they have tarnished them and even posted their picture publicly, can their image be reddemed? NO.

They need to always do more research before posting peoples picture publicly, if this is how other western country behave they would have posted more than half of their citizen for crime they didnt know about. And at the end tarnishing their image.

Dont forget this is Nigeria, once your image has been tarnished, it would be difficult to redeem.

don't bother checking them.

I know everyone in the pictures, at least I’ve seen them at Ikoyi Passport Immigration stuff, I think they are just victims of a powerful politician. Every officer at Ikoyi is guilty of charging extra, and I think EFCC is just freaking useless, so having a laptop is a crime... mtchew
