I've learned never to assume without hearing the full story. There are many possible events that could have lead to that.

1. What if he found out the kids weren't his and he wants to resolve the issue without the public notice so he went ahead and rented a place for her to move into but she refused?

2. What if he caught her cheating and decided taking another wife?
