Children under the age of 10 of Brazilian Permanent Residents

There was once a post here about your exiting children status once you give birth in Brazil. I challenged the poster but I was completely wrong and would like to apologize.

It is true and the law has not changed. When you give birth in Brazil, all your existing children under the age of 10 get provisional Brazilian citizenship. They have to confirm at the age of 18 that they still want to be Brazilians. They can however have a Brazilian passport and travel just like any Brazilian. They only difference is that they just confirm at the age of 18 if they still want to be Brazilian or not.

I am very sorry for the initial confusion. Please forgive me.

Cheers

Hello OneNaija,

Thank you for contacting me. I have received soo many private emails and answered many of them. It is now soo much that i may not be able to respond to every single one. I also realized that many of the questions are related and that i keep repeating myself.

I would kindly suggest that we ask all questions and answers here without being too personal so that everyone can learn. I am very sorry. The emails are just too much for me to handle. I kindly hope you understand.

I want to thank this woman once again, beautiful soul, humble, down to earth. It will surprise you that she is not even Nigerian and has travelled far and wide. But there is no single trace of pride in her. She answered all my questions and practically spoonfed me with all the necessary information. A lot of people will ignore you, or even insult you for asking some certain questions but not her. May God bless you, its unfortunate that some people are saying negative things here, that could affect others application in future. We don't know who is reading, I don't advice anybody to try and fraudulently exit this country but please let's not drag ourselves here and continue to spoil things until every country starts rejecting Nigerians. MA, I have plenty of information to share but not here. I am a very reserved person and I wont like anyone to insult me.

Apology accepted but let me correct you on the issue you mentioned about minor being 18 before getting naturalize, No... This is it, any minor under 7 - 10 depending in State their family is living will get a Brazilian passport after 1 year of getting RNE (permanent resident) but in their passport it will be stated that they are born in Lagos/Nigeria or any other countries they are from but after 18 years they will be fully claim as a brasileiro/a

I was the one that mentioned about the minor getting RNE and you replied me that the law has changed so I just let slide because many of my friends has benefits from this so I don't need to argue with you.

Brasil is a very big country and let me tell you this, the law they use in each state is different even though it's the same federal policia, the laws in Lapa SP is different from the one in Sao Jose do Campo SP while it's different from the one in Maringa PR as well that is Brazil for you.

Imagine in the same state and the requirements for marriage is different, one area will require a police report from alagbon and another area will not ask for that, just come with your valid protocol and passport and you will get married, that's it.

It's a lovely country for documents but I don't advice people to migrate here to hustle.

Brasil is free to everyone, their slogan is "UMA PAIS PRA TUDO" which means A Country for All.

It is not illegal to have child birth in Brazil even if you are stateless and it is total free of charge, you don't even need to get a private hospital, health is free in Brazil or else you don't want to stand the queue of the government hospitals and get yourself a private hospital.

And there is nothing like illegal immigrants in Brazil, if you come in with a short stay visa, you can walk to any policia federal and extend your stay to 1 year, they will give you a document called protocol you will be renewing it every year free of charge with CPF and a Cateira de trabalho (working permit card) and others documents you need to live in their country. You can open a bank (CAIXA) with this documents and even use it to receive money from money agencies like (money gram, western union and others)

The country has a lot of benefits but you need to get there first, learn thei language (Portuguese) Ad onb

Don't do drugs, don't steal, don't fight... Keep a good name and make sure your CPF is clean after some years you can claim naturalization with a good lawyer. There are even NGO that will help you out if you don't have money, then from there you can move to any where you like with their Passport.

Bro let me CORRECT you.....

adigunomomama:
And there is nothing like illegal immigrants in Brazil

I think you have to let people know that you are talking about people who claim to be REFUGEES

If you are a tourist in Brazil, then that's what you are. If you go to the policia federal to extend your visa then you have to show proof of financial situation (aka how you will live in Brazil as a tourist) in order to extend your TOURIST VISA. for 3 months. You will never get a 1yr tourist visa extension, EVER.

You will NEVER get a working visa just by walking in the policia federal, you need a contract from a reputable company that would sponsor your working visa....and sadly, with just a tourist visa, you cannot work in Brazil.

if you come in with a short stay visa, you can walk to any policia federal and extend your stay to 1 year, they will give you a document called protocol you will be renewing it every year free of charge with CPF and a Cateira de trabalho (working permit card) and others documents you need to live in their country. You can open a bank (CAIXA) with this documents and even use it to receive money from money agencies like (money gram, western union and others)

You cannot get a carteira de trabalho with a tourist visa, the above information is for refugees.... Pls be clear on that. Now if you actually have a normal working visa then you will get what is called CEDULA DE IDENTIDADE DE ESTRANGEIRO or Commonly called a RNE # with which you can open an account in ANY bank in Brazil ..... Banco do Brasil etc

Only with this RNE # can you get a carteira de trabalho and pay taxes in Brasil... Unless you are a refugee.

Yes you are right but not everyone in Brasil seek asylum and they get the RNE even after they over stay just they they have to pay a fine of 700-800 reais which I am not sure of the certain amount before the government change it to 10,000 reais now.

Sorry I did not mention that you have to seek asylum before getting those documents. The thing is Brasil is not that tough on immigrants like other countries when it's comes to being illegal or you over stay.

Nah bro, you are wrong...you cannot get a RNE on a tourist visa or while being illegal.... You can only get it if you are living legally in brasil under a valid visa (tourist visa not included). You can't get a carteira de trabalho if you ain't got a RNE etc..

As for the fine, yes you are right, before the max you could pay was about 870 reais, even if you overstayed your visa for 10 years. Now the amount is just madness.. Same as investor visa, where before you could just invest €50K max in a local venture and get the visa, now it's minimum €150K.

where you are RIGHT is that YOU will never be deported if you are just illegally staying in Brasil, SO LONG AS YOU DONT COMMIT ANY CRIME.

If you pay the fine and don't sort your resident status than you are still illegally staying in Brasil... No RNE for you

Anyone who obtain a RNE through child birth is not a tourist any longer.....that's not an EXTENSION of a tourist visa.
when that child is born, they have to regulate their visa situation from tourist to legal guardian of a Brazilian citizen, thus they apply for the residency (through that child) and their status changes from tourist to temporary resident. Unless they apply for that temporary residency, and later get a resident permit (aka RNE), they can't work in brazil or apply for Brazil's passport..

I repeat...you cannot get a RNE/Brazilian passport and still be on a tourist visa. Impossible.

It is not possible to get RNE with a tourist visa, I never said that Bro, But it is not compulsory you seek asylum before you change your status, that's it, I don't like to drag things. I have witness a lot, you can marry with your tourist visa and get the RNE same with giving birth without seeking asylum, that is what I am talking about.
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by Adjo10: 7:24am On Jul 24, 2019
There are only 2 circumstances were a tourist visa can be changed to a CRNM (Resident permit card) without leaving Brazil. These are:

1. Giving birth in Brazil
2. Marrying a Brazilian citizen

Finally, to the best of my knowledge, as parents of a Brazilian child you get a permanent resident card (though valid for 9 years and can be renewed) and not temporal permit. After one year of living in Brazil on this permanent residency, you can apply for a Brazilian citizenship. You need to also learn and speak basic portugees to apply for the citizenship. Thanks

Hi Graceee. I will break your question into 2 parts for a better explanation. There is 1. The validity of the Visa and 2. The amount of time you can stay in Brazil withing 1 year.

1. The validity of the Visa

To the best of my knowledge, the validity of a Brazilian visa can rage from 1 month to 10 years. Factors determining the validity of the visa ranges from reciprocal agreement between your country and Brazil for example USA and Brazil issue 10 year visas to each other citizens. For most countries, visa are issued for 1 year. You can also be issued a 1 month visa if the visa officer has reasons to suspect the motive of your travel. (Please note that even with all this, the visa officer has the power to modify the validity even with country agreements). This is not common.

2. The amount of time you can stay in Brazil withing 1 year

No matter the validity of your visa, you are not permitted to stay in Brazil for more than 180 days withing 1 year. (90 days and extension for another 90 days while in Brazil). Of course if your visa is valid for 1 months, you can only stay for a month. This case is very rear. The only exception to the 180 day rule is with EU citizen who enter Brazil visa free but cannot stay for more than 90 days in 1 year.

I hope your question was answered. Thanks

Florianópolis, Campo Grande, Belo Horizonte, Palmas. Sao Paulo and Rio are also safe but avoid them if you want to live the country early. The bureaucracy is insanely slow because they are populated. Any private hospital in the first 4 cities mentioned should be good. Stay in the state capitals and not other cities because all paperwork are done in the state capitals. Thanks

@mrBrownjay you don’t have to worry or argue with anyone . You have stated the fact no more argument . Fallawx is back .

Truly you can change your visitor visa status by child birth , Brazil would grant the entire family present in the country at that particular moment resident permit for the sake of the new born baby .

But mostly I have seen family who usually seek for asylum a week after arrival so they could have working permit . Get your CFP from police federal and later after for working permit .

New update on where to apply for work permit/renewal work permit . they are about to move from the current office and there new office is unknown . Latest update on where to apply for your work permit/renewal work permit would be posted soon .

justwise:

Pay for private health care and apply for medical visa. Basically be honest with the situation and if you are refused visa then work on the reason(s) for the refusal
