Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello was given a ‘heroic’ welcome upon his return to the state capital, Lokoja from a trip, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV reports that the governor who has been away in Abuja, for days, returned to the state on Saturday in a grand style.

Large crowd of supporters and residents trooped to the city centre to catch a glimpse of the youngest Nigerian governor.

Though reasons for his trip to Abuja could not be immediately ascertained, an aide of the governor who craved anonymity, however, said Bello was away on political reasons.

Igbere TV reports that Governor Bello whose tenure comes to an end soon, is seeking for a reelection on the platform of his party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

Already, the governor has obtained his nomination form and has Senator Dino Melaye of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), as main challenger in the Kogi State 2019 guber poll.

propaganda of the highest order. see thats in front of international market (felele), if you are passing that place on a market day ehn life go tire u, cos people full road and everywhere like sand. so what, when Bello reach there him comot head for car, abolikis pushing wheelbarrows amongst other hustlers go rush gather hoping he will throw money like he always does (he does that often especially at old market). then camera man starts doing his job from the best possible angle. Rubbish. even if Na me comot head for car in front of international market Lokoja take shot from nice angle una go think say Na me crowd gather.

I stay in lokoja and I can tell you that Bello is likely to remain in luggard's for another 4yrs. That guy has deadly foot soldiers under his payroll who can ruthlessly manipulate and rig election in his favour. Let alone the federal might that he has already. Another strategy he's using now is to effectively divide Igala's substantially through different surrogates of different other political parties who are from Igala land. PDP as a main opposition party in the state is not serious yet. When they have plethora of incredible fellows seeking for party's candidature. As it stands now, there are over 15 Igalas vying for luggard's seat under different political parties whom yahaya Bello is their discrete sponsors, just to disintegrate a large number of Igala votes. When he succeeds in doing that, he will rig and overbloat the votes coming from his tribe side (Ebira) Kogi central. Then with a few votes from kogi west, with help of the likes of Smart Adeniyi and other APC Juggernauts from the west side. I tell, Yahaya Bello's chances of coming back is extremely high. Don't forget, APC won all the state house of assembly seats of the state. PDP is still in a ghost mode in Kogi as it stands.

Your analysis is apt.... So logical and i could tell this movie you wrote would be played exactly like that...

Good luck to them....... Since Buhari would rule us for the next 4years... Anything is possible

This only confirms the fact that many Nigerians are cursed. Cursed with the spirit of mediocrity, and stupidity.

This same thing happened when Ibori returned from prison in the UK and was welcomed by a crowd, and all they had to say for that was: "they lied against him, he's our Son!" A son who nearly ruined you and the future of your children?

It's pathetic how we reason in this country, and it saddens me that I live in this present generation in this country. No wonder we're not moving forward.

It's just so sad!

Election is getting close and politician are staging acts to manipulate the minds of the electorate. This Governor seem to be practically staying in Abuja and visiting Kogi on part time basis. No matter the love people have for him if this is how they've been welcoming him from Abuja since he assumed office by now they would have been tired of welcoming him because his house is in Abuja and his office is in Kogi. No body gets this kind of crowd welcoming him/her everyday when coming to or going back from work.

The crowd does not translate to numbers of vote in the coming election. They where paid, offered free money to welcome the incompentant and disgraceful youthful gov. Who has caused more death by none payment of salaries to workers.

[quote author=bender79 post=80489194]Nigerians are programmed to hail their opressors because they can't come to terms that the can be a better life.[/quote

I keep asking myself for what qualifies Nigeria politicians to enjoy the praises and high regard accorded them by the thoroughly impoverished masses of this nation. Can it be that they are unthinking? What came to my mind yesterday when i saw a video of a $4.1tn airport in China about to be commissioned, was that no nation can advance beyond the vision of it's leaders. In Nigeria we celebrate our politicians for commissioning one 300kva transformer in a community, we praise and dance when distributing hair dryers, grinding machines and laptops to youths whose future is bleak. When election is approaching they share "market money" to "empower " hungry looking traders. This cycle of hopelessness will continue as long we keep having visionless and uninspired people in leadership positions. No man grows beyond what is conceived in his mind!

Only if you know how it happened.

The few number you are seeing were brought from all the local government in Kogi state for that singular purpose, all in a bid to trick the whole world to believe a spurious support base. Buses were provided by each LG Administrator, and #5k was paid to each of the 'tools' for the assignment.

Who will cheer a monumental failure, if not the foolish, the avaricious and his appointees
