Point of correction: Tinubu is not the father of the west! The ooni of ife or the alafin of Oyo both have greater claims to that title. The truth is that westerners dont necessarily have political godfathers; we vote based on general opinions about what is the less of two evil candidates, or which candidate seems to be better if at all, or which party is better considering past performance. If Tinubu is so strong, how did he lose out completely in Oyo state, why did his party have to massively rig the osun and Ekiti elections, and why is it that his greatest critics are fellow yorubas? The southwest has no place for godfathers and that is why saraki could lose kwara and Tinubu is always careful to place competent governors in Lagos to avoid losing the place forever!!!
