Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, has said that the recent philanthropic gestures by billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, are motivated by an impending political ambition, Igbere TV reports.

The 36-year-old singer said this in response to a Facebook post by journalist, Olumide Iyanda, on Monday.

Mr Iyanda had opined that Otedola was fast becoming Nigeria’s “Philanthropist-in-chief.”

Responding, Seun Kuti had said: “Political ambition loading!!”

In a statement on Sunday, Femi Otedola had pledged to take care of the medical bills of veteran actor, Sadiq Daba.

Daba travelled to the United Kingdom in 2017 for the treatment of leukaemia and prostate cancer.

He returned to Nigeria a few weeks after with reports that his situation was not as bad as feared.

Two years after, the October 1 star was recently admitted at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital for what those close to him said was chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Otedola had in April accepted to foot the medical bills of former Super Eagles’ coach, Christian Chukwu, who was reportedly diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Chukwu returned to the country two Fridays ago after his treatment in the UK which reportedly cost Otedola N36,635,000.

A similar gesture was extended to Tinsel actor, Victor Olaotan, in 2018.

Olaotan became bedridden from an accident he had on the Lagos/Ibadan expressway in 2016.

Nothing one will do in this world that different discouraging opinions won't arise. While not let him continue with his philanthropic gestures until he reveals his political intentions to the general public.

It is normal at least his father was once a governor.Regardless of his motive,he had wipe away someone tears through his gesture.

Nigerians are very gullible people. Mr ote $ refused to pay up his loans with forte but was living lavish. he has sold off his shares and left now. He is one of the people who looted through subsidy. no subsidy no more money. Seun is right

Though he has right to contest, but our search has been on for Nigeria's young Macron, and we discovered Seyi to be a rare good Person. So shocked when Seyi was evicted for not using the once-in-a-lifetime Veto Power to destroy another by saving himself during the week. Wow!!! Seyi has proved to be a rare considerate and selfless human being. Let's not be senseless, tribalism has not get us anywhere. We need genuinely good leaders in this Country. I prefer and shall vote young visionary Seyi Awolowo as Preaident instead Buhari any day. He's guaranteed to make a far better President than the kunu guzzler that is turning original Nigerians to 2nd class Citizens of Nigeria.
