As canadian Citizen and canada being number one in quality and standard of life, i will never dreamt of living in usa. Atleast i can sleep very well, knowing fully well that my next door neighbour doesnt have a gun. I dont even visit usa on vacation not to talk about living there. I prefer places like Paris, switzerland, neitherlands etc.

Bro its not as worse as you think ..Try visiting the east coast if its closer to u summer time ..u go like am

easier said than done.. do you think u will just marry and then they give u green card?

Once they interview you and your iyawo and something doesnt seem right, even to those who claim fell in love, that happens to them, and your adjustment petition is denied, they will put you on deportation proceedings immediately and the American who petitioned for you will be docked for perjury up to 10 years and or/ $10,000 fine... people i know that have suffered this fate are up to 20 Nigerians... u think visa interview is hard in Lagos? wait until you attend adjustment of status interview-----when those who have experienced it here tell their stories, your legs will freeze inside warm water out of fear

I have some questions of my own regarding this. I fear that some persons I know have not been straightforward/honest with me about this matter.

There are Australians in the US working 100%. Australians relocate to the US as many as Americans relocating to Australia. You are able to recognize Americans in Australia based on your comment because of their backpacking culture. It’s difficult to identify white people from New Zealand, England and Australia in the US because they are all white. Unless they tell you where they are from you won’t know. I have seen a couple of them that said they were from New Zealand and Australia. They mix with American whites and take advantage of American white privilege.

Besides, most of the American backpackers you referring to are possibly tourists. Hence why you see them in backpacks for the most part. If you see an American backpacker in public places anywhere around the world, 99% of the time, he is a tourist. Unless you want to tell me you follow them to the place where they are working. Americans spend money on tourism around the world more than any country on earth.
Young man Australia minimum wage is higher than that of America..most people from there you see in America got family ties down there. Americans are broke and ignorant. Only brainwashed people believe the hype. America is one overrated poo hole

Goodnight.

Bro you really have time to argue with that lady. Is obvious she doesn't live in Canada or JJC in Canada. Just only California GDP is weigh more than Canada GDP. Canada is no match to US. There is no point arguing with someone who has not been to Canada. For her information I live in Canada and works in one of their biggest airline as a Big Data Engineer. US IS WHERE THE MONEY IS!

... Hmmm! Presently, you can not change your status as it is if you came in on B1-B2 Visa. That era has gone for now, take it or leave it. Even now, no extension again and no more students visa like before. I live in Bay area, California I am saying the real truth of what is going on for now!

Huh...that's not true...after three months of legal stay, you can get married to a US citizen, after the US citizen spouse petitions for the foreigner, he/she can adjust their temporary status to a green card as long as you can convince that the marriage is real.

I know a number of people who are still doing it as of today.

However, they needed to get the help of a lawyer to make their case less of a glitch for future problems.

Hahaha!! You mean the Sarang lady... There is no comparison to USA and Canada. Canada, good for raising kids and yes, not everyone has guns but US nah Baba naah no doubt! US they pay zagaaa compared to the same jobs that people do in Canada but then free health care for Canada. But even at that I think US would be a better place to live Shaa depending on the city.

Minimum wage in NY is not 15USD.
Guess you are living there so you should know better.
It was increased to 11.10 USD this year. No state pays 15, only the city of San Francisco.

Not sure I told you I live in NY, quote me correctly or stop quoting me.

"If you work in New York City for an employer with 10 or less employees, you are now entitled to a minimum wage of $13.50 an hour. If you work in New York City for an employer with 11 or more employees, you are now entitled to $15.00 an hour"

There is no need to scare people away from going to the US legally on a visiting or student visas.

After their three months legal stay in the US they can get an American to fall in love, marry and then can change their temporary status to permanent status via adjustment of status to obtain a green card. Unfortunately this is one of the weak US immigration loopholes that most visiting and student immigrants have used and are still using.

Like it is an assignment or homework

My dear, you have said it all. If you live in the US illegally, it's going to be hell on earth. Better stay and sell pure water in Nigeria than to be found in such situation in the US.
Trump's has decided to make life miserable for illegal migrant.
Gone are the days when people could easily use other people's documents but not easy now.
Before making a decision to stay in the US please do your homework well. The money people spend to move illegally into the US will make life more meaningful in Nigeria

Getting married to an American citizen for papers is no longer as easy as before. It now costs thousands and thousands of dollars.

I know the frustration people go through, the unfortunate thing is that they will not tell you the truth.

If you give a dude in Canada the legal paper to move to USA, trust me, the dude will not spend another night in Canada.

The folks that move to Canada only do so because the option to stay in USA isn’t open.
Whether you want to believe it or not, Canada remains the second option to USA at any time/ any day....and this will remain so for a very long time.

United States of America may currently be going through a very strange scenario, but at the end of the day, usa remains the greatest country on the face of this planet.

Canada = Toyota
USA = Lexus

Both countries are decent, but one is just simply better than the other...for the obvious reason.

calm down and stop trying to jump out from your body. You can only decieve the brainwashed. America where almost 70% of her first class citizens are one paycheck away from living on the street. More than 65% of the population cant even come up with a merely $400 in an emergency something a bricklayer in a village in Nigeria can raise easily. America where most graduates in their mid 30's still live with their parents and female college students sleep with european suggar daddies to pay their monthly student loan debt. In reality Sudan and Somalia might even be better than America

Salford is more than 150% real and right..there is no country you can compare with America..thats a fact.It is so because of the flexibility of opportunities it offers to every one regardless of your academic background so long as you really think like a human being.US encourages all kinds of venture reason Mexicans, eastern Europeans,Africans who do not even have high school education succeed because there are no restrictions to small start up retail shops..so many Nigerians back home done even know that there are road side vulcanizers in New York, road side welders, kabu kabu blowing whistle for you with "Heysss are you going?...with people selling candys and cookies in the subways..with people coming out on the streets with their truck loaded with coconut ans selling to passer by..with guys hawking soda and water on the highway of NYC just like lagos...

you cant try that in Canada, you need to first be educated in Canada...everything regulated with govt policies ...small street businesses are not encouraged...

what America stands for is why it is called living the American dream...there is no country that is easy to succeed other than America with or without papers.

by the way i am also a Canadian citizen.
You are right, I saw a lot of street sellers in America. However the universal access to healthcare and security in American is not the best compared to other Western countries like the UK, Canada, Germany etc
