Please nairalanders, help me figure out what is actually causing all these tantrums.

I have been living quietly with my room mate for a while now in campus, I've been these type of guy that is introverted, quite, gentle, soft hearted and easy going while minding my business.

Just today my roommate told me what he overhead one of our Lodge mate saying that I'm so isolated and doesn't want to relate with people, I chat a bit with people, I greet and mingle but it's seem If you don't interact or make unnecessary gossips and discussions with people, they tag you all sort of names.
They misinterpreted my introverted nature for being isolated. I don't know what is wrong with me or maybe I find it difficult to learn how to pretend but I'm not good it, I love my privacy and enjoy being alone. I can't pretend, I love being the real me. Is it a crime not to mingle with people hence they label you a bad person as it seems their is little or nothing you can do to satisfy a human being.

So please tell me if I have a problem.

You have said it all, no matter what you do, people will always have something to say. Just live your life on your terms and stop listening to stupid people

All that matter is dat ur roommate understands u and u hav been living peacefully together. Plz kip living in peace.
Just be urself and focus on ur academics. Build ur self in diverse areas. learn some skills.
U see in a couple of years, u will hav some real life challenges to tackle not this meaningless gossip from idle busybodies.
