This is not a concrete case, Hon Gboluga Ikengboju member House of Representative Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency was sacked based on dual citizenship not on election matter. He enjoys dual citizenship with Canada.

To do what? Am not ok with this ruling,i dont think the tribunal has jurisdiction over such matters.it is a pretty election matter.i believe the appeal court will do the right thing.

What does our law say about dual citizenship and eligibility for political offices?

You can not tell. It might be victory against Democracy. Only the voters can say that. He was sacked not because of your WURUWURU but because he is a citizen of Canada and Nigeria at the same time. It is against the constitution.

The tribunal can handle the case. According to what I read on saharareporters, the case has to do with the eligibility of the PDP candidate to stand for election. The APC candidate was able to prove that the PDP guy is a UK citizen with allegiance to the country. On that basis, his election was nullified. A very similar case is also before the PEPT where Buhari/APC are claiming Atiku is not a Nigerian and is therefore not qualified to contest the presidential election in the first place. If their argument succeeds, the tribunal will throw out Atiku’s entire petition on the basis that he wasn’t qualified to contest.
