Kidnapping: RCCG petitions Jonathan…to stage one million-man protest

ABUJA—The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, yesterday, commenced a nationwide collection of signature of its members that would partake in a planned one million-man protest rally against the spate of insecurity in Nigeria.


The General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who yesterday initiated the move, insisted that it was high time religious organisations raised awareness over the depreciating standard of security in the country, adding “we cannot afford to celebrate, clinking glasses and congratulating each other when a horrendous decimation of the most vulnerable is picking up a pace and our stock of human capital heading for the abyss.”

According to a petition sent to President Goodluck Jonathan by the spiritual leader of RCCG, Adeboye, which was equally attached to the registration form that was used, yesterday, to collect signatures of member interested in the protest rally, “we, your subjects and citizens of this nation whose signatures appear hereunder, greet you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and congratulate you and every Nigerian on this auspicious occasion of the Jubilee of our nation.

“As we mark our 50th anniversary as an independent nation, we are faced with the emergence of kidnapping as the latest Nigerian night mare and one of the most serious threats to our common well being, no one is safe.”

I guess it was easy to pull down GEJ, a fellow Christian and a man who was sincere in his actions.

I want to say alot... But I would say. As a pastor you know "the inspiration of the Bible depends on the ignorance of who is reading it" . There are times scripture is set aside and sense is used lol
This government has a Christian, pastor and a member of the redeem Christian church of God as the vice president. This man is also a presidential hopeful candidate....


Adeboye won't want to openly tell the government the truth or castigate the government ...

Sometimes, the politics in the church discourages most "Free thinkers" who are somewhat leaning towards the belief that Christ died for us and acknowledge the fact that there's God, from truly identifying with a Church. The hypocrisy in the Church of God is mind boggling.

The Church, The Mosque, and other foreign cultures have somehow done more harm than good to our psyche as a people.

The littering of indigenous gods which oftentimes polarise and sharpen our differences as a people has not fared better in giving us a sense of direction as a people (Nigerians).

Well, I think I should blame the Church, Redeemed included, for not bringing up better chirstians. The fact is, we have a lot of chirstians , Redemmed members inclusive, who are not being the change in government.

That's more important.
