Hello Nairalanders,

I want to buy a car in the near future and I am turn between an Avalon and a Corolla 2007. Based on my price review on Jiji, both vehicle are within the same price range of N1.8million - N2.2million for foreign use depending on condition and seller.

I'll like to ask Nairalanders who have experience using any of these cars to advice which will be better for a personal user with no plans for long distance travel or ride hailing.

My key concern is aroung.
1. Cost of servicing
2. Repairs and maintenance.
3. Fuel consumption
4. Overall driving experience.

If ur salary is below 150k go for corolla ..if above 300k go for Avalon...good luck

cost of maintenance- fuel or repairs, Corolla got the thumbs

though Avalon has more luxurious features, but I advice u go for corolla

please don't buy Canada used cars...

Every one of those things you mentioned is more intensive with Avalon.

Avalon's engine is much bigger than Corolla and hence a higher maintenance.

Avalon is a complicated car so go for Corolla, it's more reliable.

Buy the corolla you won't regret it.

The avalon is not bad too but corolla is way better in everyway

You deserve better with that budget, check for something newer on Craigslist or offerup if you have an agent.

Corolla is the definition of economy...
Avalon is the luxurious...
But both are Toyota which is generally known for durability so you can make a choice...
P:S... All Corollas are 4 plugs(V4) while all Avalons are 6 plugs (V6)

So if they leave u u will go and buy 07 corolla,
It's better u get avalon or camry
