There are transcripts of people who have gone through this process all over related threads as well as on Visa journey. I shared mine earlier on this thread. Process is less than 2 years if your spouse is a US citizen and more than 2 years if she is a permanent resident. Mind you, less than 2 years actually means within that time frame. my process from the filing of petition to when I got my Visa took about 9 months. No, it won't. However, i'd suggest that your spouse goes back and return to see you again. If it will be easier for you guys to meet again in another country, that would be better too.

If you list him as f2 dependent during your f1 application, he can get I20 to join you as F2,

But if you didn't, then he will need to apply for b1/b2 tourist visa.

P. S. The consular will be more interest in wedding certificates, pictures and proofs of legal marriage more than an invitation letter

That works fine! Because, they usually ask the "how many times has she visited you" question at your interview. My experiential advice is to start preparing for the filing documents now. I was so carried away by love and forgot to prepare certain things...like joint bank signatory and several stuff that was sent to her at my address(which helps to prove co-habitation). Its very important to prove you guys are comfortable with your financials. Also have as much family as you can in photos at your wedding and also photos of fun places you visit too. Its mostly proving that the marriage is legit that matters. Read a bunch of articles that will help. Check boundless.com and visajourney.com for some more info.

Joint Bank Account is not a compulsory requirement but it helps in proving one's case that the marriage is genuine.

My wife filed for k3 for me this year and I was told later that k3 Visa is not existed in Nigeria, I want to know are they going to change k3 to CR1 along the process? Or how we will do it when my wife have already file for k3, please I need your help, I need good answers

I wedded my wife here in Nigeria Dec last year who happens to be Citizen and she filed March because of the Trump shutdown..finally it was just approved August 19th..she shows me the receipt..Although the NVC hasn’t sent me any mail
