However, the literary meaning of words is not the same as science, and thus while something can be both noxious and toxic, not everything that is colloquially 'noxious' to the neighborhood nostrils is scientifically toxic. It's an understandably difficult concept for someone likely groomed in the "repeat-after-me" method of what passes for education in much of Nigeria, but at least you are headed in the right direction.
