I blame both the soldiers and police officers involved everybody was doing show of force. Imagine if the police didnt return fire but surrenderd instead and then identify themselves later. What would have happened.
If the police actually returned fire don't you think the soldiers will also have causalities

Stop lying. The police did not return fire.
If they did, some soldiers would be dead.
they didnt surrender either. Dont get me wrong am not supporting the army. Am just saying the police officers death was avoidable.

If the police opened fire, how come none of the soldiers was injured or shot?

How come the arrested kidnapper wasn't shot during the exchange of gunfire?

We have seen when soldiers rescue kidnap victims, they are usually taken to the nearest army formation. Where was the kidnapper taken to?

The arrested kidnapper was handcuffed, where did the soldiers get the key to uncuff him?
Calm down Baba, nothing dey happen. This information is the last we will hear about this case.

casualties mustnt be on both sides. What am trying to say is that there was probably some kinda resistance 4rm the police.

Nice. I hope the committee will reveal its findings to the public. I want to believe those soldiers didn't aide the escape of that kidnapper.

Indeed, we should always learn to give the benefit of doubt.

IRT officers go out with minimum of 3 magazines per operative. Some carry 5. How many do the soldiers have? Or you think IRT are normal policemen or Mopol?

The IRT guys didn't fire a single shot. If they did, would kill ALL the soldiers. That's the truth. Ever heard of Police special forces? Some of them are in the IRT.

well lets wait till investigations are done. If there was a sinister motive by the army there wouldnt be survivals. Probably the soldiers saw the plain officers with guns and then panicked.

Uuugh whats this one saying.
Uuugh? The police official reaction said it has a video gone viral now where one of the soldiers was heard saying they were policeman, yet the others still opened fire.

Have you read the Army's response? Did it even address any of the salient issues raised by the police?

Yet you are gleefully twisting the narrative and telling us to wait for the outcome of a matter that has already been swept under the carpet.

Stop guessing and giving conjectures. It seems you don't have an idea of what you're even arguing about.

Go and read the initial statement of the Army and come back to delete what you've been typing here since morning.

Don't mind the guy. He's talking without knowledge of the facts.

The painful part is that I've met some these IRT guys before in Lagos and that particular bus was what they used. It pains me personally.

someone wearing a suit gave that order... in operation when you say that word [*] and identify your unit your're free to go.
Army claim they didn't stop at their checkpoint (lies) when they were coming they saw them is it now that their mission is successful that they remember they have checkpoint.
where is the kidnapped victim you rescue??
Who told you that he is been kidnapped in broad daylight??

What do you mean by surrender?
Let us even agree that they didn't "surrender".
Why was one of the officers killed after being captured?
Why did the soldier go ahead with the killing despite being repeatedly told that
the men work with the IG team?

What happened was extra-judicial killing which is illegal under Nigerian and international law.

It's funny some people believe ill equipped police officers would actually engage the Army in a firefight. It was definitely murder which aided the escape of a suspect and should be treated as such.

There should not have been this unfortunate incidence were Nigeria a sane country.

Don't you notice that our everyday undercover policemen don't look any different from kidnappers.

The Police commission need to look into the nitty gritty of their modus operandi & improve on some stuff.
