post ita majority of the applications take between 2 to 12 months. Cic offical average processing time is 6 months. Pre ITA till u can sort evaluation and ielts. Some cleared ielts once some cleared 1 year later. For eca depends on the ECA body, your school, waec if you did etc. Some did eca in 2 months some it took a year or less

Hello gurus in the house....I have a question that is bothering me...
I worked in a Mbank btw 2014-2016 during recession in 2016 more than 80percent of Lagos branch workers were sacked including me...
Now I want to use this to add to my 6yrs experience...
Will the sack affect me in any way if CIC is notified?
Should I just claim a 4 year experience?

Awaiting your response on this

Well, for work experience you gain maximum point from 3yrs above. 4yrs in your case is fine and adequate. Claiming 6yrs won't give you more point than 3yrs, it's all same point.

I've been corrected. Your job experience can be in more than one profession but each one must be at least a year long.

Lol, you still didn't get it grin

We have some people who do short term projects or Contracts e.g
4months as a Personal Assistant in Company A,
6months as a high School teacher in B,
3months as a primary school teacher in Company C
and 2years as an Accountant in company D.

This person can still claim points for all the experiences as long as they are within the admissible NOCs and not NOC C. Only that the primary NOC will be the one with atleast a year experience which in this case is "Accountant"

Primary NOC means the NOC/profession you intend to seek employment in when you get to Canada which is why it is required that you have atleast a year experience in that profession.

Peace grin

Good morning wonderful e-family!
Congrats to all the PPR clinchers.
I have been a silent reader and have learned so much from contributions on this thread.
Please, I would appreciate some clarifications.
I worked as an English Language teacher in a Community Junior Secondary School. Please, what is the appropriate NOC for this work experience? I previously thought it would be 4031 (Secondary School Teacher) but observed the title "Junior High School Teacher" under NOC 4032.
Please help me choose the most appropriate NOC. Thanks!

Secondly, I worked in a call center and my Employment letter states "Call Center Agent - inbound" which is under NOC C - 6552 (and not eligible for Express entry). But, I understand that it is the job duties that matter. Please, can the gurus in the house help me fit in or reword my Job duties into any related Category B NOC? They are as follows:
• Answer incoming calls
• Manage and resolve customer complaints
• Sell products and place customer orders in the computer system
• Provide product and service information to customers
• Route callers to appropriate resources
• Document all call information according to standard operating procedures
• Follow up customer calls where necessary
• Upsell products and services
• Complete call logs and reports
• Guiding new call center agents on the company’s protocols and proper use of applicable software

Thanks for your kind assistance!

I forgot to give an update. He was asked to request for a refund of the wife's biometrics fee that she doesn't need it. They have requested a refund. They both have their PRs, and have landed in Canada already. The wife is indeed lucky as after 3 weeks of submitting her docs and paying her fees they both got PR.

Thanks to all who gave responses to me at different times on this forum. I wish everybody the best in this journey.

PLACEHOLDERS

Education: BSC cert, MSC cert, ECA, IELTS (for PA & spouse)
Employment: Reference, Offer letter, Payslip, Commendation letter, Promotion letter (we had all the document so why not) For PA only
Change of Name: Marriage certificate, Affidavit, News paper publication, One and the same for PA.
POF: Summary page, Letter of consent from spouse (we used a joint account fixed deposit), Renmoney certificate, Renmoney letter of reference, Bank statement( this wasn’t necessary though as our fixed deposit had more than the required funds)
Police certificate: Inspector Moshood
Medicals: Qlife medical form (It's advisable to book before you get ITA if you are sure of getting at the next draw, this delayed our application submission)
Digital Photo: The Passport app came in handy
Client Information: We filled Schedule A upfront, Visa refusal letters

POINTS TO NOTE
Please before submitting your application READ! READ!! READ!!!. While we were waiting for ICES I spent time going through nairaland thread, searching for answers online. There was really nothing peculiar about our application but I needed to be sure we had crossed all the ts. Some of the questions I had:
1. Using renmoney as POF. I have read a good number of PPR scripts and only found one person who used it, I tried contacting the moniker but got no response. Renmoney has one clause on their certificate that says “We can choose to approve or decline a liquidation request” I was really worried about it even though they always approve all liquidation requests. If you are in these shoes, you can request for a Letter of reference that says you have access to the funds in your account anytime. I had gotten a reference letter without this statement and requested they added that line to the reference letter, my relationship officer said he wasn’t sure they could add that line to my letter. He eventually came through with the letter but this was a day after we submitted. Well turns out it is not an issue but give yourself peace of mind by getting that letter.
2. We claimed points for only one role in PA’s previous workplace even though PA had 2 roles with different NOCs at the same company. We added the second role to personal history. The letter of reference had both roles.
Ladies and gentlemen, before submitting your application, make sure you spend time gathering info, ANY DOUBT you have before submitting is VALID. I’ve seen people asking questions about doubts they had after submitting their application. Don’t be like them oo. Ask all your questions now, google as well.

->Take screenshots of your application before submitting in case of an ADR.
->Please make sure your scanned documents are clear, people get rejected for illegibility.
->Create folders for every placeholder on your laptop and drop the necessary documents, this will help you mirror your application and also help you avoid silly mistakes like uploading a document in the wrong placeholder(please don’t be lazy about this).
->Take a day or 2 to compare the information on your documents with the information you filled especially the dates*. I know somebody that found a mistake with the dates on her reference after submitting.
->After receiving documents like ECA, IELTS, POF statements, Police report etc please check check check for mistakes before leaving the location if possible.
->Keep your application simple, if you must add unnecessary documents please add to Client information section.

After submitting, pleasssseeeee leave your application to God, stop looking for wetin no loss, Let Go and Let God. I see people going back to their application to give themselves a headache asking questions they should have asked before or questions they have already asked. No follow them oo that’s why I suggested using at least 2 days to check and recheck your application, I know it’s not easy but stressing yourself over things you can’t change isn’t worth it, trust me!.

Special thanks to @topsmamen & co for answering all my questions and to the nairaland community. I wish everyone all the best in their various stagessmiley.

There is only one way to scaling through the hurdle of ielts listening. Absolute concentration.
I encountered similar ordeal. I wrote IELTS a number of time, passing every other modules consistently except listening. Finally, I got a 9.

The secret is absolute concentration. Forget about practicing through the entire forty questions. Pay strong attention to those areas you have issues with. I'd problem with MCQs, mostly matching questions. I took a whole week working on it, before I started practicing full listening tests. It paid off in the end.

Yes please, it will prompt you to choose the option of the type of card, but make sure you have close to 70k in that card so the transaction goes smoothly if you are using WES and paying $227.
