There is no state in Nigeria currently that doesn't have one, two, or more bad roads. Lagos State has more bad roads than Rivers State currently. Some of the raods op mentioned and some he didn't which I took cognizance of are under repair and the state actually has good roads.

Like I stated, Wike fixed the Iwofe road when he took office and to my utmost surprise, like two junctions on the road is terrible. Would we blame that on contractors or road users? The location road is also under repair, one along mile3 is also under repair. These are the roads I used this week and saw contractors working on.

No state in Nigeria is a haven. Abuja inclusive. We all have our peculiar problems.

What I would be more frank about is the area of security. The government has to do more on that and I hope his new initiative works.

I don't think so with what I have seen tonight.

I don't go out much since i only stay on the Island but i often go to my mum's family house in oshodi. And I can say except for some areas around mushin, roads along that axis are fairly ok.

I also go to Orile/Alaba for business and until recently roads along that axis are fair. I believe the most complained about road in Lagos is at Badagiri axis.

I have not really encountered roads in Lagos worst than what I am seeing in these pictures

That aside, Rivers state is a oil producing state with a huge revenue base, I don't think roads should really be this bad in that state.

Rivers State residents have been asking if the Governor, popularly known as Mr. Project, is still living in the state. This is due to the overwhelming poor state of roads across the state.

Major parts of the federal and state roads are bad, thereby increasing the pains and suffering of motorists and other road users.
Some of the affected areas include: Oyigbo (Porthacourt -Aba Road), Ada George road by Location junction, Rumuolumeni, Ikwere road by Market junction, East-West road by Nkpolu, Rukpoku by BigTreat, Rumukwurusi by Sobaz, Rumuodara by Omega House and D/Line by Okija road, among others.

The bad portion of the roads has forced many motorists, especially those plying the notorious Nkpolu and Location junctions, to abandon the route for alternative ways to their destination, which consumes extra time and money.
For example, trip from Rumuokoro to Choba in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, which was N100 now goes for between N200 to N300 for taxis using alternative routes while others.

The two-lane of Nkpolu junction has completely collapsed and commercial motorists are having a field day due to the failed road.
Residents face similar challenges in other bad roads across the State. Some car owners prefer to use public transport due to bad roads and traffic gridlocks. The situation, it was observed has slowed business in the state capital.
Criminals take advantage of the bad portion of the road to rob and kidnap residents, especially between 6:00p.m. and 10:00p.m.

Meanwhile, the State Ministry of Works has announced that work would commence at the bad Location junction by Mgbuoba/Ada George Road tomorrow. Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works, Rivers State, Dr. Clifford Ndu Walter, in a statement, informed the public that the axis of the road would be closed to traffic from August 8 till August 10, due to the commencement of rehabilitation work on the road.

He urged commuters and other roads users to use the alternative lane pending when the road is fixed. However, there is no news yet about moves to repair other collapsed roads across the state.

Residents are calling on Governor, Nyesom Wike, also known as Mr Project and the Federal Government to come to their aid.

Am an admirer of Wike especially in his boldness in speaking truth to power against d FG tyranny but I must confess that Wike has not done well in maintaining d aforementioned spots on those roads. The State govt needs to establish if not already there a well funded road maintenance agency that will be saddled with d responsibility of identifying these deplorable points on d road and nip it in d buds before escalating. Good to know that d Ada George by Location has been closed to traffic from Thursday yday for d fixing but it will be nice if extended to d oda hot spots. In fact this Op is a true Phc son and posts like this will add value to Nairaland not all these irrelevant posts filled with hate and tribal innuendos

See your life! I am sure you've never stepped into the State like in the past 4yrs or even one year. I've made mention of some of the roads mentioned being under repair as I've used them in the past week.

The nature of deplorable states being talked about on here in Lagos, Rivers doesn't host any of such. I know what I've seen.

With the revenue Lagos generates, why does it still have deplorable roads?

I can beat my chest that it has more bad roads than Rivers State. Stupid bloggers are now known for discrediting the State by posting happening in it on social media while the ones that happens in Lagos State is overlook. First time I was there, road users were robbed on broad day light in traffic with matchetes while passerby were minding their business. Was told that's how you guys are wired to overlook and pretend these things don't exist in order to live. Same idiots will see a thread of robbery in Rivers State and will start screaming it's the most dangerous state to live in, yet, it's still filled with strangers and this lot all want to be here.

I passed there yesterday to GTB by the junction. That road is under repair.

Rumuolumini road was fixed by Wike when he took over office 4yrs ago, I am surprised that on passing there days ago, the state of the road by Akar Junction is deplorable. The contractors obviously used substandard material.
