To be honest, God does not control success or failure. He already left everyone to succeed at their own pace, you maybe successful whether you serve God or Not. Although there are exceptions where God comes into play in people’s success, but it’s not a must you serve God for you to be successful. There are lot of Atheists that are successful and also lot of religious folks that are successful. Likewise we have Atheist that are not successful with the same as Theists. |

Edoloaded:Im going to try my best to break it down in the way I know best to do. First start with an analogy. Let us assume you work in a big Corporation like Google or Cocacola with presence anywhere and everywhere and that your office is in Lagos. You have been in this office for 10yrs, your salary is regular is never late or short, zero promotion, plenty work and sometimes you are asked to come in on weekends and holidays, no award, no gifts, you get along well with your bosses and co workers, nice environment to work with less pressure, your company does not terminate people unless for extreme violations of rules. You heard that your colleagues working in facebook get promotion every three years, they dont work weekends or holidays and are rewarded for good turnout, they are paid regularly and no late or short salary, they complain of macro-managing, their supervisors treat them like little children always watching and managing what they do with very little room for independent input or contribution to productivity and people are laid off frequently for non performance, the pressure to keep job is high. Another set of people work in Govt Secretariat, their promotion is by tenure, they enjoy time off every govt declared holiday and weekend, their work is lackadaisical and they are in office just to chit chat in idleness and push paper from one desk to the other, they are guaranteed lifetime employment and retirement packages, no work pressure or workplace hostilities, salary sometimes is late and even when it comes it is short, salary can be behind for three months at times. Would you be willing to trade your position in the first description with any of the other two, and if so, which would it be? God has blessed each individual in his own capacity and we ought to be grateful first of all for His benevolence. The other aspect of gainful reward is left to us to accomplish, it does not concern God. God gave rules, limits that he said we should not exceed. This means within those limits we can do whatever we want. What are these rules? Here are few examples - Do not steal Do not kill Do not covet Do not injure Do not harm Can you think of some things you can do and gain financial rewards and yet not exceed these limits? Yes...there are plenty of them. So if you are not doing those things you should blame yourself, not God. The next point I want to make is parental influence. Our parents gave us an upbringing that is dictated by native culture and traditions, we should be grateful to them for imbibing good foundation in us. Our daily endeavors and toil and interaction are far beyond native customs and locality....we are exchanging at global standards, therefore each individual owe it to himself or herself to "reborn", 'rebrand', "transform", "reawaken" and "upgrade" to the global level. Your village DOs and DONTs are not same with global DOs and DONTs...in these days and time if you want success and achievements you have to operate by global DOs and DONTs or you will remain a local champion (and that's assuming others in your village have not upgraded above you. If they did you will not even be a local champion). What can you do on the international level to reinvent yourself? This is your job, not God"s. Social impact. The reason people like Zuckerberg (Im shocked Yorubas can pronounce this name. My ancestors would call him Sukaboogi ) and fellow Americans are ahead is because their society live and work in a state of conscious harmony. There is not enough time and space for me here in Nairaland to go into the philosophy of harmony and consciousness...and share its many benefits. In Nigeria our consciousness is a disharmony and at cross-purpose, hence the ingredients needed to seed intelligence and productivity and ingenuity and evolve society in a forward progress are all misfiring and inverted...stunted! Religious complacency. To make matters worse, those who ought to lead and coach people in self-reawakening and transformation are the pastors and imams who constantly feed fear into our spirit and limit our ability to reach the outlet for deliverance. At every turn and whatever the concern is they are quick to tell us prayer and fasting will deliver results. It is a scam! God created you with a cloned consciousness that originated from Him. When he wants to speak to you he comes through that consciousness. Its up to you to recognize and activate the whisper...or neglect it. When you need to speak to Him you do so through that same consciousness. You do not need a pastor or imam to approach your God. No imam or pastor can open a way for you that God has blocked, likewise no imam or pastor can block a path God prepared for you. So what is the role of pastors and imams? What you are reading from me here is what your pastor or imam should be doing. This is their job. To explain and reassure and calm and support....not put fear in you and turn you to a praying and fasting client. Spirituality. Religion is different from spirituality though many do not know. My Yoruba people know this, it's why we remain inwardly attached to our traditional customs even as we embrace Islam and Christianity outwardly. Yoruba and spirituality is one! So what is spirituality? It is a total system which bridges two sub-systems and make them interdependent. In other words, a coupling of two worlds which cannot sustain and survive if left by itself but must cooperate with its opposite pair and maintain balance and stability. These two worlds are physical and metaphysical. Science is wrong in teaching there are non-living things, in reality everything is alive and everything has a name. When you call a substance by its name it reveals itself to you, just same way that when you are called by your parents or someone you show up or respond. All substances are able to respond when addressed by their names. Those who know the names and how to address substances to yield to them are who in Yoruba we call Babalawo and Onisegun...(Priests and Alchemists). Every substance have an element they belong to. Sometimes in order to call a substance, depending on its element, Priests will first praise the custodian of that element (Deity). Thus a Sango Priest know how to talk to and get result from substances in the fire element. An Osun Priest know how to talk to and get response from substances in the water element. In addition to all these elements we also have Realms. Ocean (Olokun) is a realm, Atmosphere (Oya) is a realm. The father of these two realms is Obatala. God created all these substances, their elements and effects so life can sustain and thrive on Earth, those telling us to abandon them are in essence directing us to ignore mother Earth, they are enemies of Earth and wish mankind to suffer in perpetuity. Of course, as would be expected, those that listen to them suffer in perpetuity! I wish the best for you! ![]() |

My brother Time and Chances (Opportunities) happen to them all.. You are not rich because you are hard working. Time and opportunities you are able to use determine how rich you'll become.. Also, it's not God's factor |
