Good morning house. Im so glad to hv stumbled on this thread and I really commend you guys for the good job you r doing here.
However, I observed that you guys only talk about FX, Qx, pathy & other Infiniti products.
No info on the 2003-2006 Nissan MURANO. huh
I saw a clean Toks 2004 Murano going for 950k. Did a test drive & it was smooth with no check engine lights on the dash(will still have it inspected by an expert anyways).
I see these cars on the road on a daily basis but people keep telling me to RUN from it that it is not a reliable vehicle even if you service it with the required fluids (Nissan NS-2).
Plz I need advice here from experts & Murano owners here(if any).
Should i BUY or PASS? It's urgent cuz I may seal the deal this week.
Thanks.
Murano has 2 major issues in Nigeria

the gear is a CVT and the gear oil is Nissan NS-2 but the NS2 must be OEM not clone or fake.

The AWD Murano has a transfer case after certain use, the seals degrade causing leaks which eventually leads to failure the worst case scenario for this is total gear failure too.

What you must do for the transfer case is to be observant and any leakage should be tackled using the required sealant for effective cure.

One more thing, Nissan doesn't like Abuse, bypass, remix, managing, Akagum owner etc grin goodluck

Fuse has been checked by the way they dont have the same fuse.
someone was suggesting running a new cable from the ignition to power the wiper and radio

thanks Bro for this info. The Murano I'm talking about is the Fwd SL trim and is Non-AWD therefore I don't think it has a transfer case.
People just make it seem like it is the worst CUV ever produced and that even if properly maintained, all the parts will just start falling off while driving it.
I'm going there by noon today with a Nissan expert to inspect/scan it. If he certifies it OK, I will pick it up.

Thanks a bunch!

It's easier to diagnose the default settings by checking fuse, relay and cable. Running a new separate wire can cause draining of battery over night (parasitic drain).

Nissan Murano is a nice SUV.......

The part that need caring is your gear, make sure you use the right oil and change it at the right time.

Just before you pay, you should go through this. People telling you the transmission will fail with or without the right oil may be right.

That is not to say you shouldn't buy. There's no vehicle without it's own issues, it's just good you know what you're getting into.

Thanks for your concern.
I have read the reviews on the website above & there isn't even 1 positive review about the car which is biased. Every car has its positive & negative sides.
Even if you check the online reviews on 1999 Toyota Camry, you will still read alot of negative comments about it. AMERICANS COMPLAIN ALOT.
Update: Transmission of the MO has been certified ok & vehicle has been purchased. Servicing is in progress atm.Just bought a new set of Camshaft/crankshaft positioning sensors too.
I believe i will enjoy this ride. Thanks guys!

InfiinitiQX4 AC Issues

I am havng serious problems with my QX4 a/c. I have changed the compressor more than 5 times but keep having issues with it. I have also changed the condenser. The a/c is not cooling at all. Compressor will come on but no cold air comes out.

I need a very good Infiniti QX4 a/c Technician who can take a thorough look at the A/C system and proffer lasting solution. SOmeone experienced and knows what he is doing. Kindly recommend anyone. I am based in Ibadan but can travel

I just returned my pathfinder's fan to factory spec aftr it has been wired to work straight with the engine giving room for roaring sound as soon as the accelerator is pushed, aftrr returning it to factory spec I discover that the water in the radiator is not full as usual.
My fear: I hope the car won't overheat during long distance journey?

you are not supposed to use water in the radiator but coolant instead.

I can't really see the correlation between the fan and the water in this case. Start by checking for leaks.

go to total fueling station and buy there coolant, you can buy the 400/L bottle or buy the more expensive one.

But still confirm for leakage and why was the fan ran direct in the 1st place?

There was time the car used to shut down on motion during long distance journey, aftrr parking for few seconds, it will come up wen the ignition is turned on, after series of trials mech decided it's overheating dat used to cause it therefore ran the fan directly.

Running fan direct is not the solution to over heating, find a more qualified technician that can do diagnosis on the vehicle to determine reason for unknown shutdown and if overheating is the issue he should do the right thing appropriate for the vehicle

Did the direct connection of the fan resolve the issue? Has the issue resumed by returning the fan to spec? Did your check engine light (service engine soon) come on in all this?

the check engine light has been there even before restoring it to factory spec but now while driving the car it blinks

By ignoring the light you decided to sweep the problem under the carpet. Time bomb. Scan.
