tbaba1234:There are players who are far more deserving than him and in all honesty after multiple opportunities in England in three different division he was very disappointing. He then goes to Belguim and has his best score tally of 6 in 16 games. IMO not good enough just yet. Awoniyi is more deserving and many others. |

Bitrus Bewarang, the Technical Director of Nigeria Football Federation, has revealed that Glasgow Rangers star Joe Aribo stands a chance of earning a call-up to the Super Eagles for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. With Chelsea legend Obi Mikel calling time on his international career last month, manager Gernot Rohr and his lieutenants are searching for his replacement and the ideal candidate has to be playing for a top Champions League club, effectively ruling out the likes of Oghenekaro Etebo, Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi. One of the traditional clubs in the United Kingdom, Rangers are competing in this season's Europa League but they are a club with Champions League pedigree, having represented Scotland on thirty occasions. Aribo has been pivotal in Rangers' success in the Europa League, scoring three goals in his last four matches. ''I will send his name and the club he's playing for to Gernot Rohr,'' said Bewarang to allnigeriasoccer.com. ''Every Nigerian player is a potential national team player if they are doing well in their clubs. ''What we require is that let the coaches spread their tentacles to such clubs and watch such players.'' Born in London, Aribo who celebrated his 23rd birthday last month, says he's open to representing the Super Eagles if approached by the Nigeria Football Federation. |

andrew444:Nwakaeme is not a striker. I don't know why the national team invited him and played in that position. |

andrew444:Is Eduok a striker? |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 1:32pm On Aug 14, 2019 |
andrew444:I would take Akpom and Eduok over a 30years old Nwakaeme. Akpom and Eduok may still have something to offer the team as they progress but Nwakaeme ![]() People saying he was wrongly sidelined after one game. A game he started and played almost 90mins. There are certain players you have to give another opportunity before you make a conclusive statement on them and there are some that just 10mis on the pitch and you are already made up. Nwakaeme, from that Algeria game didn't look like a Super Eagles material. |

Danielnino00:Has he not been invited? I clearly recall I have seen his name on the list at some point in the last two years, maybe the coach didn't see any use for him then. If hr has a change of heart, nothing wrong with inviting Odey, but it should have little to no bearing on Akpom's invite |

Icon4s:Not that i even want eduok to be invited, he has gone to croatia to make it worst After just one game you can judge a player? Just because he is not your favorite player you want to judge him with one game abi? if so ighalo will not be in the national team Sorry sir i wont take you serious because of that Thank you |

BascoVanVeli:Even on a poor pitch you should still see flashes of Brilliance. Was that pitch as bad as the Steven Keshi stadium pitch in Asaba? |

The guy was too robotic against Algeria. Very stiff with no flair or dangerous runs. We should concentrate on yourger players abeg.nwakaeme and uduak na old men. Icon4s: |

Icon4s:Lol But na you bring sentiment nah and its very clear You watch nwakaeme played just 1 game and you are already saying he is not an eagles material If nwakaeme is not being invited i understand that they are many youngsters not because he is not an eagles material Should i mention players who didnt do well in their eagles first few games? |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 1:42pm On Aug 14, 2019 |
charlesemeka85:Na so. So that on the eve of a WC they will start throwing in names of untested young players after they discover the old players have lost steam. This is the best time to introduce those young players and select the best from them as we build towards the next world cup! |
