The guy was too robotic against Algeria. Very stiff with no flair or dangerous runs. We should concentrate on yourger players abeg.nwakaeme and uduak na old men.

You get it.

And that made u make a case for nwakaeme? Did oshimeh do half of the little akpom have done in Greece when he was first invited to the super eagles setup? The game against Ukraine is a friendly so I see nothing wrong with trying out uncapped players who have shown little promise.

Akpom is still young, moreover he has done quite well in Greece so there is nothing wrong in giving him some minutes in the game. Dude is just 23 and can still fulfill the promise he once showed at youth level

Bro you dont get it

Before i will even want nwakaeme to be invited, i will call the youngsters first

I am trying to say akpom has done nothing to be invited and i have listed players who have done better

I think they are trying to cap tie as many players as possible because according to what pinnick said

“We have secured a Grade A international friendly match for the Super Eagles against ukraine in Kyiv, on the 10th of September,” Pinnick said on Twitter.
“It is part of our on-going drive to expose as many players as we can to global football, so this should be another springboard for our young stars.”

so maybe we should expect a lot of new faces
At the same time I hope we'll get a positive result, we need to start building our ranking now so that hopefully if we qualify for 2022 WC we can get a favourable draw

The game against Ukraine is a rehearsal so I see nothing wrong testing players like maduka okoye and akpom.

One of the essence of such games is to try out untested players who will be integrated into the team if the coaches are convinced with their input, tactical awareness and adaptation.

It was in such games that the likes of uzoho and ebuehi showed that they have what it takes to be bonafide members of the current set up.

Onuachu's performance against Egypt in portharcourt earned him a place in the afcon team.

It's no different from when a player joins a club, it's not Hamburg job to investigate his age and other details

I have watched akpom play...dude is just an average player....
the only English born player striker we need right now is Tammy.
the rest gonna offer nothing different...

I will rather want us to use that slot lobby one of the arsenal kids... Xavier Ameachi or midfielder I think folarin or so.

Agreed

We have players better than him in his position

Some people want him to be invited just because he is english, if na our normal naija player some people go say na back water league e dey play

He scored 6 goals in 20 league games last season, we have players that have done better than that
Poor

Na them go say player dey back water league but na dem go still want make them invite player from there because na english guy

I dont care if he is playing for paok

Even if he was played as a winger, he doesn't just have it.

It's not because he doesn't have it as a winger, he doesn't deserve a call but because there are better wingers than him, he can't make the team.

What do u mean by ass licking? angry. So because this kids were born abroad made u more Nigerian than them? That's the biggest problem we have, sentiment and pride!

Rohr who invited oshimeh did so not because club performances but his heroics at the u17s and when the lad came to camp the German was convinced with his abilities and work rate.

Akpom rejected us earlier in his career but have turn a new leaf desperate for a chance in the team and he has been decent enough to atleast get few minutes in a friendly so the coaches can ascertain if he has something to offer the team and I see nothing wrong with that.

He wasn't the first euro-born player to turn us down but to rescind their decisions later. Ebuehi turned us down, Alex Iwobi did before his uncle and dad intervened,Victor Moses did, Ola Aina shunned the idea when first approached, but today they re strong components of the team.

currently Ademola lookman is very interested in playing for the team after several rejections

Do you know when mikel started to woe Aina for the super eagles?

Let's forget sentiment and pride and grab as much of these kids as we can. Mixing them with the rich homegrown talents we have will produce a stronger super eagles team. I'm am even of the opinion that if Tammy and torunarigha have a change of heart playing for us they should be welcomed hoooooooha!

But na you bring sentiment nah and its very clear

You watch nwakaeme played just 1 game and you are already saying he is not an eagles material

If nwakaeme is not being invited i understand that they are many youngsters not because he is not an eagles material

Should i mention players who didnt do well in their eagles first few games?
Do you know coaches only need few min to know a player they want? Do you also know that Icon4s has stated several times that he's a trained coach even if he doesn't practice so I'm inclined to believe he's talking as a professional and not as an emotional fan

Is akpom the only striker to be called up for the Ukraine game? He is one of the uncapped players to be tested so few untested players will added to the list. Let's wait until the list is out haba!

Even on a poor pitch you should still see flashes of Brilliance. Was that pitch as bad as the Steven Keshi stadium pitch in Asaba?

Not all the time. That is why they are called flashes of brilliance because they are not common.

I think they state of that pitch was way worse than the Keshi stadium. Their pitch was worn out and clumps of grass kept coming off. Asaba pitch is still fresh and it is just the make of the thing that brings issues.
