I am aware they usually have stopovers at Instabul and Singapore or honkong..my question is; based on your experience (for those who have been flown to Australia by the airline), was a Turkish or Singapore Visa required at any of the stopover airports?

Please someone should help me with this info as quickly as possible cos it's very urgent.

Long post alert!!!

My entry was pretty much similar to everyone's. Hassle-free no much questions asked. This actually blew my mind because I was expecting some form of interrogation from Immigration but none happened. No stamps....nothing. In my mind I was like 'abi this is a setup ni' like they were performing a psychological test or evaluation.
I proceeded to Customs for checks but those ones just asked me to pass my bag through scanner after informing them I had 'Cassava flakes'

As I made to walk towards the exit, I kept thinking this people will call me back o. How can I just enter your country to come and live permanently and you'll just make it easy like that.

A friend picked me up at the airport and took me to a house he had already secured for me till my arrival. The plan was to stay in his house but he had some important guests who came same day. He paid for a week. When I asked to refund he declined. I appreciated him sincerely. I had other friends I could stay with but I just decided I wasn't giving up my freedom jare . Let me just add that I have the best housemates anyone could wish for. We are like family mehn.

I have never traveled for such a long duration before so I underestimated coming jet-lag. I arrived late on a Thursday and didn't sleep till daybreak Next morning, I was at the bank to pick up my ATM card and update my account details (since I opened from Naija). Jet-lag effect continued o 2hrs to 3 hrs sleep at night only.

Meanwhile, back in Naija I applied for about 10 jobs only to receive rejection emails few days or weeks after. This got me irritated so I stop applying. There was no point (at least, so I felt).
By Sunday, I decided to make the best use of my wakefulness. I applied for about 6 or 7 vacancies and wrote the company info down in book. I also copied the name and contact details of the recruiting agent/hiring manager. Monday, I called a few of them and waited till Tuesday to call the others. I was told it was a bad idea that I would appear forward. ..... as far as I was concerned that one na story ..... Make I just follow human being word ... no be say I wan beg am for anything nah. I dey follow God word steady not to talk of person like me . Actually, na the koko be that.......God first

Me: Hello 'name of agent/recruiter' my name is 'name'. I applied for 'position' and would like to confirm you got my application.......or......this is just a follow-up call to my application for 'position'
Agent/Recruiter: "Sorry, what's your name again?"
Me: 'Name'
Agent/Recruiter: Just a second....."let me pull up your application".....or..... "let me have a look at your CV".

At this point, they ask a few questions about your CV, Visa status and a little summary of the job requirements and who they are looking for . Some may just go through your CV and ask that you give them some time to go through other CVs. One of them told me the position was filled and that he would forward my CV to his colleagues. Another(an agent) followed up our conversation with an email asking for further information so he could forward my CV to the hiring manager in the company. The appointed one (a recruitment manager for her company) asked me the bolded questions..... I called her on Tuesday. She called me back on Thursday to confirm my availability and schedule an interview for Friday. Sent an email later in the day that interview postponed till the following Tuesday.
The interview lasted about 30mins to 45mins. I left the company to return home. I was still waiting for a train when my phone rang.

Recruitment manager: Congratulations 'my name'. Blah blah blah.

Before I got home, all documents and link to start induction was already in my box. I was asked to resume on Thursday while they get my system and access ready. On Wednesday I just started feeling sick. Anyway, I banished the feeling in the name of Jesus. Luckily, my laptop wasn't ready so I was asked to resume on Monday. I have since started work sha. Is God not a good God?

I got a professional job in 12 days after I entered this country with almost nothing. God just keeps blowing my mind sha .

I entered this country with USD850 on my card and AUD70 cash in hand. I made up my mind Naija money was to remain in Naija. I was not willing to bring more than that. I have assets/investment that could be easily liquidated back home though if yawa wan gas
Let me add that it pays to change your naira to AUD at the Airport. The rate used was N280. Be mindful of the limit though AUD10,000 or you declare. Couples can hold like AUD9,500 each. No risk in holding cash in my opinion. I felt like protesting when I withdrew AUD with my USD denominated Mastercard. Thieffy thieffy banks them.

Loving life here already. Almost a month old now . System is built with everyone in mind (elderly, physically challenged, nursing mothers, children, women, men, cyclists, car owners, leggedesbenz .....everybody). Hmm, my eyes have seen things too o.......abi what do you think?.......my housemate went to church barefooted with short pants (as in knickers ..not pata o) because the church is behind our house. JJC like me was dressed in suit......felt uncomfortable throughout the service when preacher sef no dress reach me . I bumped into same guy about 100m away from home barefooted too. He was going to the Australian Post......... araoko sombori . Nobody send anybody and anybody send nobody .
You don't have to do a white-collar or professional job to make it in this country. In fact, some of the blue-collar workers earn more than their white-collar counterparts. Whatever makes you happy though.
