Why Are Prayers Only For “barren Women” But Not “impotent Men”? Dr Olufunmilayo by udomoh(m): 4:42pm On Aug 15, 2019
“Why does infertility in African culture stigmatize and blame women?” Why do churches offer special prayers for “barren women” but never “impotent men”? – Dr Olufunmilayo asks a rhetorical question.

Read below…..

Why is it that in churches, there are special prayers for “barren women”, but never “impotent men”?

Why do Pastors call people who are “seeking God for children” and only women come out, but never men?

Society and culture has made childlessness a woman’s problem. But it is not.

Why do you see a couple struggling to have children and you only wonder if the wife’s womb is intact, but not the man’s penis or testicles?

Why do our movies suggest a childless couple have the challenge because the woman had many abortions but not because the man had many STDs.

However you know what the facts of the matter is? Infertility is not a woman’s problem. It is a couple problem. In other words, the medical fact is infertility is never solely due to the woman, but can be due to problems from both the man and the woman. Many of you don’t know.

If as a man,

You take excessive alcohol,

You smoke cigarettes, shisha etc,

You wear very tight underwear,

You have repeated STDs untreated,

You have low sperm count,

You have problems with good erection,

ALL of these, can make you infertile, Or difficult to ever father a child.

If as a woman,

You have irregular periods,

You are overweight,

You smoke cigarettes, shisha etc,

You have repeated STDs untreated,

You produce milk when not pregnant,

You insert nonsense into your vagina to “tighten”, “flush” and “upgrade” it,

ALL these can make you infertile.

These are the things we should be educating one another about.

Not trying to pin all problems of infertility on women.

That’s counterproductive and unintelligent.

And that’s why when a couple goes to see a doctor, about infertility, the doctor will do tests for both of them.

This is why we must be different in our generation and not perpetuate the shameful stereotype that all infertility in marriages must surely be because of the woman.

Let me clarify, I’m not saying it can never be because if the woman.

I’m saying it can also be because of the man.

Of course one can reply and say: “But why do men get side chicks pregnant after their wives fail to give them children”?

So many reasons: Irregular sex, The wife not ovulating, The wife having problems, Or just sheer being unlucky.

Have you tried flipping the coin?

Let me help.

Think of this:

If a couple were having challenges having a child, do you know if the woman went out to have unprotected sex, like some men do, she can also get pregnant?
But this rarely happens. Because married women don’t.

That doesn’t mean those married women are infertile.
Anyway, if you are married or looking for children, Have unprotected sex 4 times a week.

Cut down alcohol- not more than one small glass a week.
Stop smoking completely- shisha, cigarettes etc Stay off contraceptives.

Don’t swallow semen- that’s not where it should go
If you are over 30 years, try those ideas for six months, If you are under 30, try it for one year, If after this duration, you still find difficulties getting pregnant, DO NOT WAIT any longer.
Go and see a doctor ASAP. So that if there is need for medical help, it can commence.

I hope this short post has educated you a little about infertility causes and what you can do, But beyond that, I hope this has opened your eyes to the unfortunate unfair stigmatisation of married women as being “barren”, when the fault may never be theirs.

In conclusion, the views of infertility in African culture is not fair to women and needs to been re-oriented.

Thanks for reading.

it’s because of all the times in the bible that couples dealt with childlessness the cure usually came from God opening the womb of the woman. Hannah, Sarah, Rebecca had husbands who had children from other women. I maybe wrong but things like this make it easy to

Believe the woman has a problem. Plus every time God was angry at a person he shuts the womb of the women and cattle nothing about the sperm e.g Abimelech.

Even marriage prayers are for only single ladies in most churches

That is why they are fathering kids from away match na. Since the problem is never from them, the wife would go outside to test her womb (out of desperation).

Women are always the ones carrying womb and marriage matters on their head..so it's only normal that the Church gives them priority smiley

Men hardly publicise their reproductive deficiencies....they would rather approach the Lord or whatever in private for remedy ....besides, has any impotent man asked for prayers in a church and he was refused? ,

Most Women are Drama Queens....too much Notice-me and Pity-me mentality undecided .....if the Pastor calls out those seeking fruit of the womb or life partners and you don't come out, will you die?

Last i checked, Pastors dont force People to disclose their problems in open church service....its the women who are always quick to jump out at the slightest call to "fall under the anointing" sad

So Dr Funmilayo should kindly shut up because just like Jon Snow, she/he knows nothing grin

Because childlessness is the woman's fault.
Women by default were created by God to be at the receiving end of the man.
So if the man gives her his sperm, she should make a baby from it.
No excuses.
If she can't then she's the problem.

Because even the man with the lowest sperm count still releases a few millions of sperms and complete Necrozoospermia has been proven to happen to only 0.2% of infertile men; meaning there is at least more than one live sperm in his cum.

A virtuous fertile woman should take that one sperm and create a baby.
As long as she can't.
She is not only barren,
she is also not virtuous and a wasteful liability.

In Africa, a man can only be mocked when he cannot carter for the family.

A man can only be mocked when he cannot give his father a befitting burial.

A man can only be mocked when another man is oiling his wife.

A man can only be mocked when he is pushed out from a house by the land lord for failure to pay house rent.

A man can only be mocked when his mates has collected chieftaincy title and made major achievements while he is still confused.

Bia op, do u expect men to be mocked when his wife is not able to be pregnant??
Have you seen a woman praying to build house,or collect title?

PRAYER DOESN'T WORK,

YOUR PRAYER CAN'T CHANGE THE BIOLOGY IN YOUR BODY,

BUILD MORE LABORATORIES OR HOSPITALS, NOT CHURCHES.

That's chiefly because the most widely accepted religions today are misogynistic and were partly meant for the objectification and subjugation of women.

Abrahamic religion hates women so much that they are seen as half humans and second class citizens. In Christianity and Islam, women are merely sex objects useful only for taking care of the men and giving birth to children.

The following quotations from the so-called holy books justify my point.

Cut Off Her Hand!
"When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her." (Deuteronomy 25:11-12)

Comment:

A wife would naturally wish to come to the aid of her husband in any way she could if he desperately struggled with an opponent, but the Hebrew law specifically forbade a wife to help her husband in distress if that support consisted of her grabbing the enemy's genitals in an effort to stifle his onslaught. The penalty? Amputation of the hand that fondled the genitals!

Female Births Get Penalty
"Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean." (Leviticus 12:2)

"But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days." (Leviticus 12:5)

Comment
A woman who gives birth to a child must undergo a purification ritual lest her "uncleanness" contaminate others. This not only entails her isolation, but also payments to priests for the ritual acts. Thus the male dominators had even made birth dirty.

Notice here that if a woman bears a female child, her isolation must last twice as long as that if she gives birth to a male child!

These are just a few of MANY examples of how The Bible demonises women.

That of the Quran is more obvious as the Quran is the classic book to study the hate of women in the dark ages when these lethally dangerous were written. The attached picture shows that of the Quran.

Africa has always been a PATRIARCHAL society and continent...

Things are changing anyway.... A lot more men now take their fertility health and statuses into consideration too. It's no longer a case of "her fault" as in the past.

Besides, when churches pray for fertility and against barrenness, God answers and sorts out the issue... Whether He restores the woman's womb or the husband's sperm count, bottom line, conception occurs and children are born... Everybody is happy (except the confused feminists abi extremists). grin

We believe that men are always not the cause of infertility in marriage. Again women are more emotional than men. That's why they can go at length in seeking for children unlike men.

Because impotent men hire men to impregnate their wives and also, she can be impregnated through Artificial insemination
Technically there are no impotent men
Lastly, men marry women to come and bear children and build a family it's only natural that all eyes are the woman. Same reason people never blame the woman for the family being poor
