The list is not complete. I know of many tribes that are not extinct yet not in the above list. And there are many tribes that are already extinct as well. |

Point of correction, if you dont know the history of the people, dont speak out of ignorance? Those people you called Igarra speak Ebira language. Ebira Okene and Igarra speak n understand each other perfectly, though there is a slight variation but it's not enough to claim they aren't descendants of the same ancestor. . Omeizamon: |

Do your research well please. Ika and Ibo are related in terms of language. They are different tribes. Anioma is not a tribe. |

It has been long I've seen such educating post grace front page. From the list I can deduce that the real 'no man's land' is Bauchi State they have virtually 87% of the tribes in that list. |

moscobabs:Owe, Iyagba, Oworo (Kogi not Kwara), Egbe, Bunu are same languages and are Yoruba. If you separate them from Yoruba while then list Kogi among Yoruba speaking state? If you are not convinced enough, then why not list Ifon (Ondo) and many Yoruba dialect in Ekiti, Ondo, Ogun, etc as a separate language. For those that don't know, many part of Ekiti and Ogun and Ondo speak similar/same dialect found in Kogi. |

Ctorch:Unfortunately, you seem unaware that Edo is not even a homogeneous state in terms of tribes. Isn't it ironical that in your imagination you feel Edo should be added to Yoruba despite no tribe in the state has any fundamental cultural affinity with Yorubas but for a state like Delta with manifestly Yoruboid groups like Itsekiris and Olukunmis you have no qualms in seeing it not added to Yoruba. Virtually all Edo Languages have the v, z and ch sounds which are absent in Yoruba hence one is always left wondering where your likes conjure this pro-Yoruba affinity theory for Edo while leaving out Delta State despite her more Yoruboid indigenous peoples. Does the need for political correctness really take Nigerian (especially Igbos) this far into manufacture of false narratives against all glaring facts and logic? |

Abak Akwa-Ibom And Kogi should be added to Yoruba (kaba), Hausa (Dejuan) and Igbo due to the Ibaji part of the state they are no different to Igbos. Odolu-Igalamela boared Nusuka |

Oguta is not on the list. Oguta or Ugwunta isin Imo state. We have different tribes in the south east region. I do not think is right to group all of them as Igbo. moscobabs: |

Gokana (kana) are local governments in Rivers state. They both along with Tai belong to the Ogoni tribe but each has their dialect of the Ogoni Language. The Eleme people of rivers state also speak a dialect of Ogoni, however, they claim to be a distinct tribe of their own. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogoni_people |

Op hope you take take expired tramadol? Izon (jjaws) are found in Rivers Bayelsa, Delta, (Edo), Ondo, (Akwa Ibom. Andoni is a clan of Izon, and not a tribe of it's own) and Abia (Akwetes are Originally Ijaws, in orgin/decendentsand in language. The igbos will always deny this but time will tell. So Ijaws are in 7 states. |
