Can anyone help me recommend a xiaomi phone to buy based on very nice camera, processor and battery. I have a budget of 100k, although am considering poco f1. Any other suggestion will be appreciated.

Dude! With a little digging around and patience, you can get a Mi 9T for around that price. I currently own the device can assure you it's a bargain deal. Got mine for around 113K (Shipping inclusive) from Aliexpress using standard Ecobank rates and that was three weeks ago. Here's my little rating after three weeks.

Design - 9/10 Very sleek and definitely a looker.

Display - Excellent 9/10 Very deep blacks and saturated colours. Colours are a bit too yellowish out of the box but after fiddling with display settings, I have just the perfect white balance.

MiUi Software - 8/10 Very good (could use a bit more optimization for speed considering the hardware) Custom ROMs fix this...

Audio - 6/10 Easily the weakest link especially the output from the earpiece port with stock software. ( I watched Avengers 2160p mkv format and was left disappointed with the audio performance considering I was listening with my xiaomi hybrid pro HD. **My recently relegated Honor 8 had better performance** It's not all gloom tho, after rooting and installing Viper audio and poweramp music player especially with my personal tweaks, I'm in heaven walahi. Currently listening to "Case" by Teni and o' boy!!

Cameras: 8/10 Excellent day time shots with true to life colours and impressive dynamic range. It even has better details than my Gcam shots in broad daylight shots. Night shots are average with poor details and washed out colours. Gogle camera mitigates this a lot.

Battery - 10/10 Unbilievable!! This battery just doesn't die. I dont care about SOT and other internet metrics. This phone doesn't need a charge in two days...Shikena

Finally, this device is an all rounder. I dont game on phones so i don't care about PUBG or other frivolities.

Hope this helps those still sitting on the fence smiley smiley

I guessed from your statement that you were either a new user or one of those who are scared of updates.

Hi Everyone

I bought RN7 3/32G on jumia last week in june and unfortunately for me after 6days i found myself in a big gutter in lekki phase 1 with my new phone in my pocket all submerged inside the gutter. I quickly got out checked the phone was still working perfectly so i turned it off , when i got home i buried it inside uncooked rice for 48hrs.

When i checked it everything was working fine the only issue was the screen brightness, it was very low dat u cant see anything on it during the day you can only see stuff on the screen at night or a dark place, fingerprint, touchscreen everything was perfect.

So i decided to take it to RAYA service centre for repairs, i did nt lie abt anything that happened to the phone i called a spade a spade when i got there, phone was admitted since 2nd of July, i called weekly on the progress at first the CCE told me she doesn't know any phone called Xiaomi/Redmi that they only service Samsung, Lava, Tecno& Infinix, so i stopped wasting my credit and take the pain once in a week to visit their office to know what the koko is.

Every week i try to get in touch with them to know whats going on cos the time they gave me was jst 2-5days now 2 weeks has gone by with the same excuse everytime (NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THE PHONE) that was the same excuse i got for a month+ from RAYA.

After 1month + i was called today that my phone has been checked, that it will cost me 69k to fix it, i laughed in french walaiii, i repeated 69k to fix my phone when i got it for 58k, i mean who does that are this people serious at all, i was hoping its gonna be in the range of 15-25k to fix it but nw 69k that's a ridiculous price. I told the CCE that i will pick it up like that i dont need them to repair it anymore.

Am not a fan of service centers but because the phone was barely 1week old when the incident happened, even the injuries i sustained during the fall has dried up since.

Xiaomi chose a wrong company to partner with, the RAYA service centre in question is the one at computer village in ikeja beside cash and carry.

This experience will not stop me from buying Xiaomi products at all, am just surprised how Raya wants me to fix a phone of 58k for 69k.

That's bad of Raya. Even a new LCD panel with frame don't cost up to 15k.

Very poor indeed. That's the major setback of xiaomi for now. Necessary parts to repair their phones are hardly available. They have to work on this.

do you use screen protector? If yes, does it work well with the on screen fingerprint?

Another question... Do you use the follow come case? I find it too slippery.
