Nbote:There is little or nothing she can do, one of the solution's is for every girl child to be educated to university level Most of the women passing through what she is trying to explain are illiterates, when you acquire western education, you will know your left from your right You will know when to say yes or know Then people will not treat you like an option |

What about the boy child and what's so important about the girl child that we will no longer hear word? The way women Focus on only the female gender if men do /did the same do you have any idea how your lives would look like today? Selfish gender. frozen70: |

Xisnin:which answer is uncomfortable? You are sounding like a girl. The society as a whole oppress men if 10 girls and 3 boys are in bus traveling and police stop the bus what will happen to the boys and girls? If men and women are in the same room and something goes missing who will be the prime suspect? If a woman shout and accuse a man of something who will be automatically believed? Who slap the opposite gender in public and gets cheered on? Mention one way women are stereotyped and oppressed in the society. A man, right from birth knows that nobody gives a fúck about him so he hustle and society brainwash him to spend the money on women but the minute a woman is able to do a little thing herself she becomes a feminist and start talking down men and accusing them of oppression. The way these fools shout girl child nonsense you'd think that schools don't admit girls whereas most universities have far more girls than boys. The fool, Hillary Clinton based all her presidential campaign and manifesto on girl child and women right forgetting that USA is made up of both males and females. Imagine if Donald Trump as a man now decide to gear all his policies towards only the progress of men. All female politicians only talk about the female gender, now imagine if all male politicians focused on men. Women are too selfish, they don't deserve any form of political power. The West started regressing the moment women entered their politics |

Nbote:let her weep all she wants, I am an advocate for women right but I hate it when they make women look like handicaps, women are not weak, they don't have physical strength but they have strong minds. orientate a girl as you would a boy and watch her blossom. we have brainwashed the female generation to think they are less than men, that they can't hustle like men. you don't see people crying for men right and all that but men struggle and break grounds but the woman wants someone to fight for her and present her with opportunities, not until women understand that they can also fight for opportunities and active it without much propagander, men will continue to treat them like underlings |
| Re: I Weep Over Women Marginalisation - Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-olu by Xisnin(m): 2:21pm On Aug 18, 2019 |
lilbest4:I don't deal with emotional stunts. stick to the topic. I don't know what will happen. It depends on what the police are looking for. Guns or cultists? the men will be targeted but if they are looking for prostitutes, only the women are targeted. I am sure you already know why. It is the same thing that happens to black suspects in the US. But in their case, their oppressors are mostly whites and they can point fingers. However You see nothing is really black and white as you think it is. If men and women are in the same room and something goes missing who will be the prime suspect?I don't know really. For a neutral object, it is the men because it is common sense to suspect risk takers in such situation. But if it is a gendered item. The right gender will be targeted first before others. You see if I go to a farm and found all the crops destroyed, I won't suspect cheese hawkers, it is herdsmen with cows that will be my primary suspect. Do I really need to explain how this work? Don't you do something similar every day? If a woman shout and accuse a man of something who will be automatically believed?Stop using generic examples. In Nigeria, the accuser is mostly believed by the mob. If someone shouts "thief" in the market, you will be lynched regardless of the accuser's gender. That is how it works. Perhaps, you have a specific example in mind? Who slap the opposite gender in public and gets cheered on?So many missing information. Who cheers such a person? What is their relationship? You may protest that is how things are. Humans operate based on hierarchy even if we pretend not to. It is this hierarchy that determines primal reaction to conflict judgment. If a senator slaps a fellow, very few will care but the case will be different if a laborer was abused. Mention one way women are stereotyped and oppressed in the society. This is getting ridiculous. Asking this question is itself a big problem because it shows you cannot see what it is in front of you. You don't know about the slut/olosho tag weak Too emotional irrational dumb and so on. A man, right from birth knows that nobody gives a fúck about him so he hustle and society brainwash him to spend the money on women but the minute a woman is able to do a little thing herself she becomes a feminist and start talking down men and accusing them of oppression.I don't know if you are raised in a family or on the street but I know from birth that several people care about me but society doesn't owe me anything aside normal social behaviors from others. Your problem may be that you cherish people's approval too much and have become slave to it in the process. Nobody is brainwashed to spend on women. They willingly do it to get what they want. When it happens, it is pure capitalism. If I may ask, how were you brainwashed to spend on women and who did the brainwashing? The way these fools shout girl child nonsense you'd think that schools don't admit girls whereas most universities have far more girls than boys. This is enough So many lies and distortion in one post. The man who claimed men are more oppressed is also angry that women are entering politics. What an irony! Let us assume you normally pick people along the way to work to help them. Now picture yourself driving along a narrow path at night in the rain and you spot 4 people waving you down. Who are you more likely to stop and pick 4 men or 4 women? How about your friends, who are they more likely to wait for? Do you think they are stupid for weighing their risks? For me, I see nothing wrong with most stereotypes and I won't cry about them because it is what it is. True oppression involves unreasonable deprivation from what others get from similar scenario or forcing someone to do what they don't want. He didn't allow me to play with his bike is not oppression, it is an individual choice. Any stereotype that doesn't limit finance, freedom or power should be trivial matter in this part of the world. In some parts of Igbo land, women cannot inherit their father's land. That is oppression. Would you want a female king in your village? We already know the answer. Not. Hey SARS raided our house took all the men and left the women. Or some religious police arresting only women in some Kano streets for prostitution. Claiming geder-based oppression in such scenarios is foolishness. Of course, the problem needs to be solved but it won't happen through misplaced gender war but the sweeping ban of such actions. I understand why you hold these erroneous beliefs. Most people who live in the shadows usually think their ideas are a reality because they have never been challenged but when they go outside their comfort zones, they are usually shocked. |

Stillthebest:i am also tired of the girl child thing but you have turned this to a gender war, we still have some funny things here in Nigeria that is a no no especially when it comes to women. I believe both gender is to be treated equally in all things, given same opportunities, no pampering of any body. the way a woman is treated when her husband dies is different from that of a man, in some issues especially in the northern part of our country, a man is seen to be superior to a woman, the women are raised that way and behave that way. not until children are brought up with the right mentality, these stereotypes will continue. |
| Re: I Weep Over Women Marginalisation - Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-olu by Ryan03(f): 3:04pm On Aug 18, 2019 |
traihit:my brother, the way women are pushing for right of the female child have increased the productivity of the girls in our society (only the sensible ones sha) I believe if same effort is put in for the male child too, our society will be close to perfection. just come to Benin and see for your self, most of the boys (10-20years) are bus conductors and their dream is to own their bus and become drivers one day. they steal from passengers, join cult groups, carry out robbery at night etc. it's a shame, I just wish I can also do something |
| Re: I Weep Over Women Marginalisation - Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-olu by Stillthebest: 3:06pm On Aug 18, 2019 |
Ryan03:Never a war. I don't hide what I feel. This is exactly how it appears to me. I only ask for women not to Harbour "complex" but to see any opportunity they have as leaders as a vehicle to help both men and women, boys and girls. Not just for girls n women as regards the content of the discourse.. As per the death, never talking about how any gender is being treated. I only cited how nature has favoured women already! |
| Re: I Weep Over Women Marginalisation - Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-olu by Ryan03(f): 3:13pm On Aug 18, 2019 |
Stillthebest:no my dear, nature have never favoured women only except you are not exposed. go ahead and read what lead to the rise of feminism, it was our fathers that pushed women into this. now they are over doing it and we are crying, we just have to tame them and try make things right. |
| Re: I Weep Over Women Marginalisation - Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-olu by Stillthebest: 3:50pm On Aug 18, 2019 |
Ryan03:How did our father pushed them to it?? Mind you feminism started In the western world not in Africa. And the most empowered women championed it thinking what men can do, they too can. Meanwhile nature has placed them to be fend for not otherwise. And what men use to fend for them is what they crave for. |

Dear Ma, Do not weep for women there are far greater issues which affects the quality of life of both men and women in Lagos. This issues can be best resolved by your husband who is the chief security officer of the state. (1) Apapa gridlock; the state of that road has become more worrisome to both the residents and the commuter of the road. Pls help us fast track the road project that his currently going along that axis while we implore you to cry on the shoulders of your husband to help mitigate the toll collection being perpetuated by security agency. (2) Street urchin/Agbero/ NURTW Operative menace; Ma'am as a matter of fact I cannot differentiate between all this group all I know is that most of them are just plain nuisance to the society. They extort motorist at will and and even constitute nuisance while trying to collect their illegal toll without respect for other road users. Complete removal of these group of urchin will help reduce the cost of road transportation which will be helpful to most market women are at the receiving end. (3) LSG contract Opacity: Ma pls hinge it upon your husband to open up the books of Lagos State as this will help reduce corruption. Corruption they say thrives under opacity and the Lagos State Government has being covering its book. A typical example is the lekki toll free gate and the ikoyi link bridge, as we speak most lagosians don't know how much is being generated and how it's being spend. (4) Minimum Wage; Ma implore your husband to pay his workers the new minimum wage. A worker deserve it's pay. Ma'am i will rest my case here, crying for women won't solve any issues but you can use your position to advise and impinge it upon your husband to take the welfare of the people into consideration has the last women who cried about state of the Lagos-ibadan express way ended up being a kleptomaniac. |
