So Jack Ipalibo left Villarreal and played for Stroemsgodset in Norway top tier. He played for 55minutes. His team lost |

Earthquake1:I don't know how you can say this with certainty. Uzoho and Ezenwa have been decent for the GWG, nobody will be ready to take over the mantle and if you are looking at Ejide, I highly recommend you look away. There are no tournaments coming any time soon, so, Rohr has all the time in the world, to try the young goalies until he gets what he wants. This one is not like 2014 World Cup that they rushed Odemwingie inside. The best time for Ejide, was last year, before the World Cup, the second best time, was this year, before AFCON.....if Rohr and co had no use for him in these crucial moments, they will not call him up after them, except all the young goalies are injured or something Alampasu, Nwokolor and Osigwe will get look-ins before Ejide. Rohr say he's building team for the future, and you people are mentioning Ejide that will be 38 by the next World Cup....what do you want to use him for? Una just wan make pesin papa come play six games for you, then you will kick him out again like the last time. You people are wicked, selfish and insensitive. |

You misunderstand why I always mention K.Nwakali. I always consider him among the prospects that can make our Super Eagles mighty in the long run. That is all my mention of the lad does... Which is.... "Focus on his potentials and what it could mean for us if he stays true to them." If K.Nwakali comes good, he would give us more dynamism as a CAM and then a DLP depending on tactical set ups. But to have him walk into the team is another matter. We have iwobi. K.Nwakali is not worthy of a SE shirt yet but is always in the picture as a lad that could come good if his club career picks up nicely again. His immense potentials is what keep him in the conversation of prospects ... But never have I said he should immediately be called up to the team. We even and deservedly so have Aribo now who can fill in, in a box to box role and CM role while the likes of Eze as a proper AM would come through with time I hope. andrew44444: |

Joebie:like I said, if he was not considered when we were in a true crisis, after Ikeme fell ill and we had World Cup and AFCON ahead of us, he is not likely to be considered now that we are done with those tournaments |

Of course I’m not expecting he will be considered. However, that doesn’t stop me from stating the obvious. There is no guarantee these young keepers will be great in a couple years from now. Football is here and now. Who is the best now? Then the question, will they get better ?? safarigirl: |

safarigirl:Remember we are trying to get into 30th position to make our players transfer much easier so every match matters Besides there is nothing wrong with an old goalkeeper in a young team, Buffon is almost 40 but highly rated |

Joebie:if football was restricted to here and now, there would be no academies. Na so we do here and now, when Enyeama retired, we had to scramble for a goalie, thankfully, Ikeme came to us and we were stable for a short time. We got comfortable in the 'here and now' once again, next thing, Ikeme sick, and that is how we finally got here now. Football is beyond here and now. It is setting a structure for the future, so that when it comes, you aren't left high and dry. If you have to sacrifice your today, for a better tomorrow, then, sacrifice you must. On top here and now, we don dey find Mikel replacement, make I no even talk Okocha, shebi if we had brought in players then, we no for dey do shotgun shopping. This is 2019, football is not just here and now |

On Wilfried Ndidi’s performance to score the equaliser after being at fault for Chelsea’s goal, Maddison added: “His reaction was brilliant, to show the character and make amends with a bullet header deserves a lot of praise. He doesn’t get the praise he deserves and he does the part of the game no-one wants to do.” ~ James Madison Leicester FC..... |

What we have here is as result of a poor football development program. Calling academy keepers to the SE is not a solution but a last resort measure safarigirl: |

Earthquake1:All these people you guys are comparing Ejide to are not his mates. I am yet to see the terrible things any of these goalies have done, that the old guys did not do. Enyeama sucked at crosses, Enyeama was certain to concede at least a goal in every match, I mean, this was a running joke years ago Somebody that just became familiar with Nigerian football will think we had an impenetrable defense and a hundred percent record of clean sheets with the way some of you hype the Enyeama and Ejide era. We used to concede as many as three goals in matches, when last did we concede that much? A lot of your fears are in your head. When you stop romanticizing the past, you will realize they were not as awesome as you thought and these boys aren't so awful either. |

Joebie:a last resort measure is recalling a 35-year old goalie that has been out of the national team for 5 years. That's certainly the last resort |

no that's a stop gap measure hoping the younger goalies will step up to the plate competing with a more experienced keeper. See, I am considering the positives not sentimentally calling for Ejide, it's not like I'm related to him. safarigirl: |

Joebie:if you were related to him, you wouldn't be considering him. You would not want him to be used and dumped, an after-thought for most of his international career. A stop gap measure ![]() |

no, stats has been the ONLY context here. Have you watched his game recently? Modified And if he was past it several years ago, how come he played a big part in Ligat ha'Al in the just concluded season. You mean his club couldn't have got a better younger keeper who wasn't spent? tbaba1234: |
