I applied as a student last year March which i was denied. Now, I want to know my chances of getting US tourist visa and if i eventually get it, can i travel from UK to America cos I have d intention of visiting UK before going to US. I have my UK visa already.

If at this stage you don't know your left from your right, then you're planning to misuse your visa while making it hard for genuine travelers to get U.S visa especially those working in UAE with the aim of visiting U.S.
We must do better and we should start changing the narrative, UAE is not the green pasture, it's now U.S (there's no green pasture).
I will advise you to do your research about getting U.S Visa, your friend or cousin in U.S will have no say in your visa application.

I am about to book my ticket. The stop over is London heathrow, in the evening, For onward journey to the US the next Morning. But I don't have a valid UK visa. Is this going to be a problem. So I can check for other airlines.
Your swift response will be appreciated.

That won’t be an issue. You will be allowed to stay at London Heathrow airport to wait for your connecting flight without a U.K visa.
The point is you will be within the airport only for that duration but not allowed access into the city of London.

I finally picked up my passport today only to be asked to schedule a follow up interview. Honestly, I do not understand their criteria anymore given that i spent only two weeks out of the 2yrs earlier granted. I guess it's probably due to change in my marital status.

My younger sister and I have an interview scheduled for October based on an invitation by my elder brother that won the visa lottery in 2001 and has been there since. I work in the civil service as a level 9 officer here while my sister is still schooling here. What can I expect from the interview? What documents do we need to provide? Thanks in anticipation.

Did you travel exactly when you filled in your ds160 form? Marital status could also be a factor. All the same fear not, have faith it will be issued

I had renewed that visa and used it only once on a day road trip from Canada (less than 12 hours actually). The annoying thing for me is they had my passport for over 3 months, only to be told to schedule an appointment at the end. And no dates are available right now, the process can be better.
