CLASS OF 2013 Nigeria U-17 graduates

"The Manu Garba boys"

Doing very well:
Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City, England)

Doing okay:
Francis Uzoho (Omonia Nicosia, Cyprus)

Doing fairly okay:
Musa Mohammed (HNK Gorica, Croatia)

At a cross roads:
Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City, England) - Bright Start at Man City... struggling to fly at Leicester. Gametime hard to come by so far in 2019/2020 despite fine comeback form in preseason.

Seriously Struggling:
Isaac Success (Watford, England)
Dele Alampasu (Unattached or Feirense U-23)
Musa Yahaya (FC Porto B)
Well, for Wilfred Ndidi, yes he was discovered by Manu but was not much part of the 2013 U17 as he failed the MRI even before the CAF U17. John Obu(U20 coach) actually took him to his first tournament. The boys that Manu featured at the U17 WC have largely been disappointing in terms of Progression. Again, this tells us that age cheating is not the only reason our youth players have not been progressing well.

CLASS OF 2015 Nigeria U-17 graduates

"The Amuneke Boys"

Doing Very Well:
Victor Osimhen (LOSC Lille, France)
Samuel Chukwueze (Villareal CF, Spain)
Kingsley Michael (Bologna, Italy)

Doing Okay:
Okonkwo Orji (Montreal Impact, MLS)
Lukman Zakari (Just moved to Real Betis B after super excellent showings in lowly latvia).

Doing Fairly okay:
John Lazarus (Lobi Stars, Nigeria)

At a crossroads:
Kelechi Nwakali (still searching for his next club in the 2019/2020 season. Huesca is last side linked to him...) - talents not in doubt but seriously needs club stability.

Seriously Struggling:
Ejike Ikwu (Xerez Deportivo, Spain)
Udochukwu Anumudu (Lobi Stars, Nigeria)

why did his own have to come with such a long explanation, as if we don't know what is happening to the career? Why didn't you explain what is going on with the others too?

I know all these but fact remains that he belongs to the 2013 class. He took part in every game in the qualifiers in 2012. He was nicknamed "Rock of Gibraltar" or "barbwire" back then in 2012. Ndidi is a barracks boy who lived in the cantonment where I attended my secondary school in Lagos. I can see where he gets his disciplined mindset from. smiley

you are right. he was one of the leaders in the team and was used in the cb position. he was dropped after failing the MRI test in preparatory to the u17 world cup

Because Iheanacho had actually taken the EPL by storm in his first pro season. He has two good seasons cumulatively from his Man City days in his young career. Unlike others down in the list that have done nothing. This is just to show why he is placed at crossroads level and not the "seriously Struggling level".

Qualifiers that didn't include the CAF U17. That is the main qualifiers bro grin

But what do you think could be responsible for the lack of Progression from a lot of those Manu's players. Let's rub minds.

No wahala. We are in a better position to face those teams with Enyimba than facing then with those other flash in the pan clubs.

Doesn't erase the fact that Ndidi is Class 2013 when it comes to U-17. Just like Igho Ogbu, Nazifi Yahaya etc are class 2016/2017 that didn't qualify for the CAF U-17 tournament.

I personally feel that the Amuneke kids were instilled with a more business-like mindset. Manu boys are generally more talented but again the most talented player of both sets individually may just emerge from the 2015 class.

I think apart from discipline, Amuneke taught his players to be quite adaptable tactically. Manu boys thrive on free flowing football always to express their ball skills but most euro teams don't serve such luxury.

You take yourself far too seriously

The explanation was not needed, but because it's Iheanacho, we have to add he had a bright and sparkly pre-season with Leicester. That's the bias, not the line about City.

Thanks for the reminder sha, we are still praying for him. Maybe he's following bad energy, hence his lack of progress

I guess Rohr too is bias for giving him a return invite. Also he did have a good preseason with Leicester didn't he? He looked sharper and fitter than he did during his slump prior to the Afcon. Since when does speaking truth amount to bias?

Pray for Nacho? Hahaha... Safarigirl.... you don't even pray for yourself. Na Nacho you come dey pray for. Lol... Please.... leave me to keep my hopes on the lad okay. If you have given up... well I haven't. So let It be. smiley

see, this is unneeded.

Somebody will be bantering with you, and the next thing is to resort to personal attacks. I wonder what informed such an ignorant statement from you undecided

I haven't given up on him, I just have sense now, and have decided that dwelling on the past will not help his career. All your hopes will not help Iheanacho, Iheanacho has to help himself and he's dragging his feet.

Lol.... you already catching feelings. I am also bantering naa... lol

And it is okay to say you have given up on him. No one here will beat you. Infact you will make many here happy. *shrugs*

And all your cold shoulders and parent-like criticisms every time Nacho is mentioned will not make Nacho serious either. It is all up to him but it is better for a parent to stay hopeful than stay always critical because in the end, patient belief pays off.

Parenting is not mathematics. Ben Carson even once said it is tougher than surgery. I say it is wayyyyy harder than surgery. Going hard can have its merits and demerits. It can work or it can backfire. A good parent criticizes and goes hard when a child misses it. A better parent corrects and shows the child the way. The best parent uses love to get the child to see his errors and be better BUT and a truly great parent knows when to be wisely tactical about showering love and going hard on a child.

Parenting is not as easy as you think coz going hard won't always yield the right results.
On Nacho, I choose to remain hopeful and and not using every turn to throw him jabs in the so called name of "going hard" as a parent.

Meanwhile... talk true... you dey pray well? You go church today? wink #JustBanteringdearSafari
