andrew44444:There are players that have made a career from making use of the few minutes they get. That has propelled them from super sub to first choice. Slimani come Leicester in 2016 for £28 million with great EXPECTATIONS that simply were never achieved. 2015/16 season for Sporting Lisbon he scored 27 goals from 33 games that's a PHENOMENAL ACHIEVEMENT. However, scoring 8 goals from 35 goals can not be dressed up as satisfactory after the money Leicester paid out for him. Shockingly he went on loan to Fenerbache and played 15 games without a goal he also played 4 games for Newcastle without a goal. His time therefore without fear of contradiction in the EPL with regards to expectations and level of investment ABYSMAL. I don't why you are getting all heated call a spade a spade. |

safarigirl:Yes they do. I use to know one if thier players that left Portugal and ended up at Everton but he struggled with physicality and could not make impact. But he signed a long contract so he was OK financially. We use to use the same personal trainer. I think he us now in Sweden we called him Junior. They have a lot of players in Portugal. There is some kind of either unspoken or official arrangement that allows them to get Portuguese passports very easily. As a result the route to European football is very easy for them. |

Who is Rohr referring to? “When I go out, I feel this love, I feel it everywhere. The only people I don’t feel this love from, there is only one category especially after the AFCON, and you know who it is. But everywhere, if it is here or in other places, I feel this love, this is a reason for me, which makes it very hard to leave because there is human relationship which is important also. . This is the most passionate (job) because the passion around me is giving me also the passion, enthusiasm and desire to do well. This job here is very different because we speak English, which I did not speak for a long time, since my school time. But I have learnt back quickly; the mentality is also different." -Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles Head Coach. |

safarigirl:Their football is on the rise. They have taken part in the last two AFCONs. Last year they raised an all foreign based U20 Team that gave our flying Eagles a running for their money. They are taking football seriously lately. I recon they will fight to get that kid. |

19 year old Arsenal defender Joseph Olowu has explained why he made up his mind to play for Nigeria despite the fact that he is eligible to play for England as well. Loading... The Arsenal U23 defender was suppose to be a part of the Nigeria U20 team for the World Youth Championship in Poland but injury made him miss out on a spot in the team. Despite the setback, he still travelled to Poland to watch and cheer the Nigerian team who were sent packing from the tournament in the round of 16 by Senegal. Explaining his decision, Olowu who progressed through the youth rank of Arsenal to the U23s said it has always been his dream and also his parents for him to play for Nigeria, moreso as he was born in Nigeria. ” The honour of representing Nigeria, the country my parents and entire family are from and even the fact that I was born there was possibly my biggest reason “, Olowu told Owngoalnigeria.com. Speaking further he said the influx of young players like Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze and Ola Aina and Wilfred Ndidi makes the future of the team exciting and he will like to be a part of it. ” Things are looking really exciting for the Super Eagles with the young players coming through such as Iwobi, Aina, Ndidi and Chukwueze and I will like to be a part of it”. |

Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Arsenal teenage sensation Malcolm Ebiowei has been advised to turn down a call-up to the Golden Eaglets ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil. This website has chosen not to go into so much details, however, it can be revealed that a foreign-born Nigerian player on the books of a London club has reached out to Ebiowei and informed him not to waste his time and money flying to Abuja because of the 'intricacies involved in selecting the final World Cup roster'. Now, the promising midfielder is thinking about making a U-turn and believes he has more security wearing the colours of the Dutch and English national teams. In addition, Premier League clubs have been advising their dual-eligible players to choose England over Nigeria. This new development will be sweet music to the ears of the English FA as Ebiowei is in the plans of the Young Lions coaches. Ebiowei has been in blistering form since the start of the 2019-2020 season, scoring two goals and providing three assists in his last two games for Arsenal U16. It has been suggested that his parents wanted him to play for the Nigerian national team over the two European nations. |

komekn:Nearly all their players play in Portugal. Reason largely because they are a former Portuguese Colony. Even their last U20 Team had nearly all their players playing in Portugal. It simply means they rely almost solely on foreign born/groomed players for their national teams. I don't know about any League one club setting up an academy but if it actually happens it will definitely be a major boost for their local football. |

Former Manchester United midfielder Michael Stewart has reserved special praise for Joe Aribo and likened him to Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, who coaches Glasgow Rangers. Aribo was the second Nigerian player signed by Rangers this summer, arriving after Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo and the midfielder has been fantastic since the start of the season, so much so that he has earned a maiden call-up to the Nigeria National Team ahead of a friendly against Ukraine. Writing in the Scottish Sun, Stewart said : ''The kid is like a proper old-school midfielder in the same way his gaffer was. ''One minute he’ll drop deep and pick up the ball, the next he’s driving forward and pushing his team on. ''Having seen Aribo, right, a few times I can see why Gerrard was so keen to get in ahead of others to get him. ''He looks like one of the best pieces of business of any side this window.'' The 23-year-old Aribo had attracted interest from several Premier League and Championship clubs before Steven Gerrard convinced him to join Rangers.

Former Super Eagles invitee Eberechi Eze has been recognized for his his outstanding performance in the last round of matches in the EFL Championship after he was included in Whoscored.com's Championship Team of the Week. In addition, the Queens Park Rangers attacking midfielder was the star man last weekend, with a rating of 8.9. Eze was involved in two goals as QPR beat Wigan Athletic 3-1 on match day five, scoring his second of the season in the 61st minute before providing the assist for Hugill's goal nine minutes from time. Ovie Ejaria (Reading), Oghenekaro Etebo (Stoke), Semi Ajayi (WBA), Deji Oshilaja (Charlton), Sammy Ameobi (Nottingham Forest) and Moses Odubajo (Sheffield Wednesday) were in action for their respective clubs last weekend.
