If you convert your $900B into ₦5 notes, can you store the count in a 32bit signed integer? If you can do this, I'll stop sharing your kiss posts. grin

Nice innovation. How o wish Seun can upgrade Nairaland, whilst still retaining its current unique features. I want to see features like:
Block (to fight against trollsters like RemiTinubu, etc)
Downvote and upvote
Facebook-style reactions
Google ads
etc.

Seun contact me let's turn Nairaland into a multimillion dollar enterprise within the next one year that'll have an office and employ at least 50 people.

I’m not trying to discourage you bro but designing an app for nairaland is not being innovative. Nairaland does not want to move on, so move on bro. Channel your skill to a more productive adventure. You’re not the first that will design an app for nairaland and it’ll end up with others inside the trash.
I believe a lot of skills and manpower went into creating the app and you’ve learned a lot during the process. I’ll advise you to move on with your skills as nairaland is stuck in the dark ages
You fail to see that the op knows something you don't, which is that Nairaland is you and me and the reason Nairaland don't move on is me and you is stuck. Not booksrite001 though. Book is not sitting on ass waiting for a mover, for as you see, op is a mover, moving us on out of the "dark ages".

Funny when some take the same attitude to Naija go better one day. Instead of moving our lazy asses and making things better, we fall on our knees and pray for better to drop down like the manna falls down from the heavens.

Well done mover op. Like the "dislike" button. Does it have "ignore" too and fb and twitter? The ability to do those will increase publicity and move us on.
Tags too. Some like cataloging. Will post stars when I've tested it. Tell me a bit about security please. How hackable is your app?

This is our community. Those blaming Seun for their "dark ages" are blaming the wind and the clouds for their noninnovativeness!

Your post is marvelous. You really addressed the most essential things about this innovation.
Like I shared earlier, this is an experiment. My Imagination is wild and I have even gotten tons of feedback about adding this, removing that. While still trying to engage the community via this thread, I am quite reluctant to add some features as the Chairman of NL hasn't given a go ahead and hence, his full support. So it remains an experiment.

Security
Well, regarding data, not a lot of hiding exists NL as a significant % of sections can be read by guests. The most important thing is that every member's space remains accessible only to them. This security setup is replicated on the app and protected by the same security built into modern browsers and https protocols. NL is actively improving the security features and that's credible.

Dislike, Ignore, etc
I am working on a setup that can allow members block seeing posts(+ contents) from a moniker. Thanks for your gesture on the 'unlike' a lot of people like it too. Even me.

Good job. You should consider creating a FAQ.

I think if you want the app to be accepted quickly try making it load faster and smoothly.

App pro and con:

Pro
* It is feature rich.
* It clean and simple

Con
It a little bit slow and does not load smoothly.
This is the most actionable feedback received so far.
I'll do some optimizations to improve the speed.
About the FAQ, I'll include it in the store listing after carefully pulling what to place.

I'll forgive you if you use Gingerbread (Android 2.3) but for j2me, nah.

Fantastic. Start with C#. Move to Xamarin Form
Then to ASP MVC, then to Windows Form, then to Web Form. Then to UWP and finish at Core. You can graduate beginner series by December if you spare 6 hours daily on this.

Look for c# yellow book by Prof Rob Miles, University of Hull,UK to start with.

Re: An Experimental Mobile Android App For NL by iHart(m): 9:36pm On Sep 06, 2019
I downloaded the app, its cool but its not working like that of Nairaland web page

For instance, if I click on the business section, what comes up on the app is different from what comes up on the web page.

I guess this app eats a lot of data as compared to the webpage.

One thing I can't do on the app for now is to put in my login details.

One other thing is that when you click on a thread, you don't have that sections anymore. To see the sections, you will have to go back.

The ads are something else, I hate seeing those unnecessary ads that just pop up from no where. The ads will also be chopping data.

Like someone advised, why not try out something completely different and leave Nairaland to Seun. He doesn't want to upgrade it.

Since I can't chat up with friends on Nairaland, I think its not necessary to have the app.
