Age is irrelevant in all any form of relationship in life Even at your work place. What really matters is the ability or capability to dominate or to be dominated. I call it power struggle. When people gets dominated they succumb to it by justifying age difference.

It don't matter if you a teenager, if you have the resources to dominate your peers or women, you would naturally earn your respect if not being an alpha male. Age is none but a number.

Let's not deceive ourselves. This is Nigeria where respect means alot to us. Person is six bmonths older and would demand you call them aunty or brother.
Most respect in marriages down here is due to age or achievement of the husband. Fact.

I think he's talking about having something (like abilities, talents, charisma and other things) that others don't have and will naturally put you in a place to lead/do well, etc. Not dominate others, as in forcing them.

Respect doesn't discriminate, it's just. Any polite person with self-esteem will always command respect of other sane people. It's earned not given.

I don't get it. You've got to love AND respect each other. The two go together. Having the two will enable you to still respect your spouse after you see them in the worst. You'll even be the one helping them out of it.
