oga, not every area is like yours o. Over here in Ikd we have nothing less than 21hrs uninterrupted power supply in a day.

Am sorry to disappoints you because where I am today i enjoy 24 hours steady uninterrupted power supply , day to day , month to months which can't be achieve in that your locality and country at large.

The national Grid is too old to stand and carry the load. I am sure it will not be less than 40 years. It is really pathetic. We should do something about it urgently. And govt should not forget PPP with solar panel companies. This will relieve the Grid and we can do something about building support and doing a turn around maintenance.

Quite unfortunate. With all these nonsenses, when those that have the means to leave this country to a deserving one, you will still see some persons coming out from their hideouts to start preaching to them why they should stay and make it in Nigeria.

My regular question to those people is that they get it wrong always . So they reason that any guy that make up his mind to relocate is because of money?

Are they going there to get rich or to stay in a saner clime where the basic necessities like electricity ,good infrastructures and the like are not luxuries to the citizens but mandatory.

But here in Nigeria, we lack mere electricity, good roads, increased in insecurity. You can't dress well without all eyes being on you. You can't drive a good car you purchased with your own legit money to without police/SARS terrorising you on the road. Our police system is wack, always terrorising the citizens for bribe. If you don't give them ,they will pull trigger like hunters in the bush.

Everyone provides their own electricity, their personal pipe borne water. The surroundings is nothing to write home about; very messy and dirty. Tell me why I should stay behind. I want to see those that will come out to preach to me why I should stay in Nigeria by the time I open my travel thread.

I will prepare for them. They should watch.

Just don't know what is going on with this country; how can a nation be treating its citizens like this? There's been no power supply in Akure now for about 5 days, no wonder it's grid collapse. How can a whole nation be on a single mono grid? Have the leaders of this nation thought about the advent of war? Remember the U.S.-IRAQ war. Why would a nation knowing other nations don't operate and depend on National grid be so obstinate and depend on national grid? Which nation subjects its citizens to such treatment without apologies and explanations for power failure? The whole U.S. east coast is preparing for Hurricane Dorian now and their government is already planning for the welfare of their citizens; Nigeria doesn't experience Hurricanes, Tornadoes, earthquakes etc, but why would power be gone for days without a flicker? Why treat the power issue as expendable?

Abeg, what are they talking about? When some places in Nigeria haven't seen light for more than 1 month now. All dis 1 na scam.

Oga Ade, aint we now saying the same thing? the monopoly enjoyed by DISCOs was as a result of the wicked contract Jonathan signed with them and to terminate such we need to pay heavy fine that we dont have.... currently Discos are rejecting Power hence the reason why Gencos are selling power abroad.. if a state Generates power, a law says it most deliver to national grid, another law states that substation cant transmit power for more than 12hrs straight and the worst of the laws states that DISCOs most be in charge of distribution.... So Oga Ade if you were Buhari what would you do?

That law...grid...is the problem; it means we are not ready to join other nations who have steady supply of power. Is it grid system that South Africa, Ghana, Egypt must operate by? It is just fear on the Nigerian state that states will become independent steadily.

What a shame, stuff like this still going on. And someone was wondering if Nigeria can host Olympics.
