This administration are professional buck passes...

Transmission is a big problem in the power sector, yet the FG prefers putting all the blame on DISCOs

Failure Government of Nigeria (FGN). please wake me up when the failure has changed to Federal . I pray it will be in this generation, because I can not afford to pass this mess to my kids generation.

BruncleZuma:

Oga Moroof, if the center will but allow the states to distribute electricity also , removing the monopolies enjoyed by the DISCOs, then they'd sit-up.

Oga Ade, aint we now saying the same thing? the monopoly enjoyed by DISCOs was as a result of the wicked contract Jonathan signed with them and to terminate such we need to pay heavy fine that we dont have.... currently Discos are rejecting Power hence the reason why Gencos are selling power abroad.. if a state Generates power, a law says it most deliver to national grid, another law states that substation cant transmit power for more than 12hrs straight and the worst of the laws states that DISCOs most be in charge of distribution.... So Oga Ade if you were Buhari what would you do?

shame on Jonathan and PDP

This one is still blaming GEJ and the PDP after almost 5 years of bigot Buhari and the APC. Too many fools in Nigeria.

You have already highlighted the issue Mr Moroof, politics aside; should Buhari be conversing with his pals at the Senate and ministry of Power to handle the situation?

This is misinformation. An uninformed observer would think that Nigerians have power always but were unfortunate to experience blackout for those 7 hours. It's not so. We are perpetually in darkness everyday of the week, month and year. They have been serving us collapse constantly. In fact, no one notices any difference. [author=Gistformant post=81806401]

Then I should be giving you news everyday brother.
Since they (IKEDC) came to distribute prepaid meter four months ago, we've not had power outage that lasted 30mins, we are even tired of the prepaid meter.
We (each apartment) now pay 2k every Sunday just to recharge the meter

Interesting.
Now, you must agree with me that if a study is carried out throughout the federation to evaluate the average power distribution rate in the country, the outcome will be significantly lower (p=0.000001) than that seen in your area. What we need to do is to examine the possible confounding factors in your area, correct for it using logistic regression and see if truly your area would have had it this good without them.

I did not even notice it because BEDC does not distribute light here .We are already used to generator here .In fact in my area, the noise from the generators in the night sounds like a steel manufacturing company

The truth be told that TCN has not really made a great impact for expansion on power system in Nigeria. Why should the whole System collapse each time the Organization is planning big for Nigerians?.
Why should you want to move faster and you find yourself at the base again and again?. Something founder-mental is wrong. This is not a time for chest beating by former Minister or the New Minister of Power. This is a Technical Job not Office affairs, you should go to the field and let Nigerians feel the impact of the power Sector in virtually everything. We want to know how many kilowatts waere added every six-months,not every year. That will keep the Minister on his toes. This is 21st Century for God's sake. Why 'should Nigerians having less power in their homes and businesses?.Too Shameful.!!.Let there be light in Nigeria.Without Electric Power, there can never be full Industrial Revolution. We believed that some Nigerians are compromising Nigeria development with Foreign collaborators or why can't Nigeria be fully Metered with Pre-paid Meters?.

The reason was on massive lid rejection by Discos.

I believe that. Since all the discos are busy robbing us all by estimated billing and they don’t want to buy power,

So they generate money more than they distribute electricity.

Just sell off the country

to Botswana or Togo, cos even those unpopular countries have steady power.
some Togolese came to do some work for me and they said....
"it's only in Nigeria we know that power is always off, in Togo.... it's announced and it don't go beyond an hour, even at that, it happens once in a long time."

so where giant of Africa copy this wickedness Come from say make people dey suffer For some few to make money?

funny enough there's barely a business that one can do without power.... that's the most annoying part of it.

God forbid this country
