My own experience

There was a heated argument between the groom's mum and the bride's, which later escalated into a full-blown fight.

The bride was also supporting her mother, thereby physically confronting her inlaw also.

When the groom later heard about it, come see slap on the bride's face. He almost slapped the mother inlaw face sef. He was just chattering: you and your mother are witchs. How dare you treat my mother like that!

Thankfully it was after they've been joined as one.

What engendered the initial fight is what I don't know.

But I heard the marriage later broke, couple months after.

On another wedding I attended, the girls parents didn't settle village youths but went ahead to host the event b in the village despite warnings.

The groom assured them nothing dey happen as he be cult boy. He cane with two bus full of boys in case. The community boys went to the venue and off gen, see fight that day. The whole village nearly evacuated as damages on both sides. Guests Cars destroyed and homes vandalised by rampaging guests.

I attended a wedding last two weeks and the groom was a yahoo boy( very well known).

It was time to cut the cake, the M.C announced that some white men were coming that they should make way for them to enter, on hearing this, the groom climbed the hall venue window and scamper to safty thinking it was Maga ( maye).

He was later called back that they were friends of the bride back then in Uk.

Why is it thankful that the fracas occured after they were joined together?

No matter the bitter experience the couple might have had before or on their wedding day, what matters most is how they live their life afterwards.

I once attended a traditional wedding. It turned out the groom didn't have money to clear the bills. It was a huge embarrassment for the extended family members that escorted him. Our extended family got so angry that they resolved that before you take them to a wedding, you must bring the list to them and tell them how much you have.

Lol. You are complaining about other people's grammar while making same mistake.
It should be 'worse than ', not "worst than".

I'm not surprised the marriage ended. If couples engage in a fight with each other at their wedding venue, they should just end the marriage right there.

It was thankful because, if they hadn't been joined before the fracas, the wedding might not continue. Is either the groom left angrily with his family, or the bride left with her's.

But I guess it would even been better, if they hadn't been joined. The wedding should just end on the spot.
