Little wonder some couples request for armed security (police, civil defence) at wedding reception.

What a beautiful way to start the day!
I've had a good laugh

I've attended one wedding that didn't happen because the bride didn't show up. The groom printed invite and thought he would blackmail her into marrying him. It was supposed to be in the village and she refused to come.

My neighbor in her 40s gave out IV for her church wedding, on getting to the church, I and one woman started roaming about like we missed our ways. We decided to go to the reception venue which was a stone throw then came back again when we found no one.
We got someone to gist us in the end, the lady was warned by the church to look for the man's family in the East and find out things about him but she declined, she was like ready for anything that happens.
Someone took the card to the man's wife in the East, she came with their 4 children and their legal documents Thursday prior the wedding, the bride to be was called and shown everything, the groom was called while his family was asked to hide, when Pastor signaled they should come out, the man took to his heels! It was like I was at a Nollywood movie.
Unknown to me,she had told the neighborhood that when the man went to bring his family, a trailer crushed them all to death hence the cancellation of the wedding.

After cutting the cake, the wedded couple are told to show how they will eating at home. The wife served her husband by kneeling down as per yoruba culture. At the turn of the husband, the guy really fall hands by prostrating for the wife in order to give her cake.

It was thankful because, if they hadn't been joined before the fracas, the wedding might not continue. Is either the groom left angrily with his family, or the bride left with her's.

But I guess it would even been better, if they hadn't been joined. The wedding should just end on the spot.

I disagree with you. Better for the couple to have called off the engagement and parted ways than to get married then divorce afterwards. A broken engagement is always better than a broken marriage.

LOL. grin I can't stop laughing. Most Nigerian weddings are disorganized. Pay for the services of a wedding planner, they won't. Bride broke, groom broke, but they want to have a wedding. It's not by force.
You are off point. Most of the problems up there are due to individual character and no wedding planner can fix that

My neighbors’ wedding. They informed me that the Mass was at 10am. I told my sister to look out the window at intervals so she will tell me the couple will leave for church so that I can follow them thereafter.

At about 10:45am was when they finally left for Mass. I thought they deliberately told us 10am when the mass was 11am. I arrived the church at about 11:05am and found people praying the rosary and I was upset that the guy was not sure of the time for his wedding which made us come too early only to be told that his wedding was actually at 10am and the priest has celebrated their wedding mass in their absence and gone in. The rosary and songs was after it was for God to touch the priest’s heart to come out. We beg tire.

The priest eventually came out to bless them and wed them but it wasn’t a wedding Mass. The bride who was supposed to be received in the Catholic Church that day was not accorded the right. Her face was hard through out the celebration. I was just weak.
Catholics don't play with time oo.. the couples sha..

I attended my dad's step brother's wedding, all they played throughout the ceremony were boring gospel songs all in the name of not wanting any worldly songs because he is an Evangelist. It was fvcking boring to the core. Aren't there any good or lively gospel songs to play or even wedding songs like PSquare's "No one like you", Eldee's " Today", Sunny Nneji's "Oruka", Timi Dakolo's " Iyawo mi" and so many more.
I wonder if love songs on your wedding day is considered a sin. Omo, some people just carry 'born again' for head.

Followed my then bf from Lagos mainland to far away Badagry for his friends wedding. Being a foodie, it was hard for me to believe the low quality of the food served( Jollof rice be like rice mixed with a tint of palm oil). To make matters worse, there wasn't enough to go round. We weren't served. Lawd...I almost cried cos I was so hungry. Mother in-law had to be coming into the hall with the serving spoon to check which one of her friends has not been served grin yet.

I lost weight there and then grin grin

then bf or ex? lipsrsealed shocked grin

The man was a legally married man in the East but abandoned his family there to work in Oyo State. He didn't come with the identity of his immediate family and portrays himself as a bachelor. He and the lady met in the church and decided to get married in that church.
The church advised the lady to investigate into his background because the church doubted his marital status due to his age but she was eager to get married and maybe had it in mind that there will be a hindrance if she goes home with him, he came to work here, no member of his family is here.
Someone took the IV to the original wife in the East, so she came down with the children and legal documents of their union Thursday prior the wedding. The Pastor invited the bride to be and was shown everything. The Pastor now invited the groom to be while he asked the wife and children to hide but bride to be seated. When the man took a seat, pastor signaled for the wife and children to be brought out, upon seeing them, the man took to his heels, so the wedding was cancelled.
Unknown to me, she had told the neighborhood that when the groom to be went to bring down his family for the wedding, they were all crushed to death hence the cancellation (she formed that because the man fooled her)
I heard that when I came back home with what I was told at the church by the worker we saw.
