edi287: I do not think it will work that way. This is not a first refusal offer but a fixed price to buy the player back. I think unless City agrees to terminate the buy back clause, it will be a component of the contract to sell, if not there would be no need for the clause in the first place. Either way, it is not as easy as farming Nacho out of the club. |

TheGoodJoe:The clause was there to secure a player with potential. The only reason Leicester haven't sold him is because they don't have a reasonable back up. Things might Chang come Jan |

Thank you. Eze and Maja should be with the U23s tbaba1234: |

edi287:Manchester City have not stopped believing Nacho's potential. If Leicester City felt they do not have a reasonable back up, Nacho would make the match day squads. They have chosen to accommodate the English boy, Demarai Gray by opting to give him games up to. |

The squad for Euro 2020 should be announced before June 2020. Is Tammy saying he will refuse to be cap tied by England before then? I’m trying to understand his rationale. Why April 2020? |

The case with Ebere Eze is that if we lost him to England it would be because we were never serious about getting him. |

jihday: If they did not believe in his talent, the buy back clause would not come up. Simple. |

Joebie:I mean I don't know what Rohr is thinking. No one can argue we lack creativity in midfield. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by edi287: 6:54am On Sep 04, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:City do not need Nacho. The ship has sailed. I assure you they'll pass on that buy back clause. I mean, what's the point? It's not like they'll make a profit if they buy him back and sell to another club like Madrid did with Morata. It's absolutely pointless. They have Aguero and G Jesus. No need for Nacho. |

edi287:the painful thing those who even work with him... as assistants don't even know what's happening... I bet they can read games too. someone like me should be working with Rohr would have sell the idea of calling up Eberechi Eze to him since... some of this coaches don't know it all.. |

Humility017:Thank God for the first time, someone is not pinning it all on Rohr. because for crying out loud, this guy has done his best in terms of this aspect I inviting our best foreign born. He can't see everything and that is where the assistants should become in, and even the NFF Technical committee. Those are all useless and they are only after where the next bribe will come from |

edi287:I hope you know Manchester City bought Angelino back even though we have Zinchenko and Mendy? Manchester City activated the buy back clause this season. I am not saying Manchester City needs Iheanacho or are going to buy him back. He is like a gamble. If by any chance Iheanacho hits the anticipated peak due to the assessed potential, he would be a huge bargain just like Angelino. So, selling Iheanacho would not be easy as you want to make it. |

timay:So why are we paying Rohr a fortune if reading games is like rocket science? Keep in mind Rohr brought in foreign hands to help. That means he also brought in crap. Now we need to pay him a fortune to train him. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by edi287: 8:16am On Sep 04, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:WE are talking 50m here...thats a big outlay regardless of how crazy the market is. The thing is we don't know Rodgers plan for Nacho long term. He isn't going to bench Vardy anytime soon. Would you spend 50m on a bench player when you have a WC striker and a very capable back up around? Let's not forget Sterling can play as a CF too. It just doesn't add up. 50m is too much to gamble on - inflation or not. |

timay:watch how some will come engage me for always looking for ways to talk down indigenous coaches.... the truth is many working in our football management set up are there for kick backs and bribes.... many of indigenous coaches have corruption tags on them which I will likened to be fact.... who would have thought that Siasia and salisu yusuf... are cool bribe takers the former even fix matches.... just imagine...the set of coaches we're grooming even the referees are no where near Benin Rep referees... we all know why...? Nigerian football officials have transparency issues.... |

edi287:That does not nullify the buy back clause. That is what I am saying. The buy back clause makes it difficult to just farm out Nacho because any buying club has to deal with it. Whether Nacho is playing or not does not cancel it. The clause is a security in case Nacho's career propels in the near future. City will want that security because they believe in his potential, not current status. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Earthquake1: 9:10am On Sep 04, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:The buy back clause is not one of the difficult clause in contracts You are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill and make excuses for an unserious player |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by edi287: 9:21am On Sep 04, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:They really don't. City will definitely pass up on it at the moment. Thats the point I'm trying to make. They have no need to activate it. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:31am On Sep 04, 2019 |
edi287:If City would pass it up as you are making it, it would not be put there in the first place. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:33am On Sep 04, 2019 |
Earthquake1:It is a mountain because it requires a club signing a player of huge potential and not getting returns for the true value if the player excels. As I said, I believe it will take a club to accept the clause or City to drop it (which I do not see happening) for a transfer to sale through. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by edi287: 9:37am On Sep 04, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:They put in in case he fulfilled his potential. He clearly hasn't and City have moved on. Clubs pass up on buy back clauses many times. Madrid did with Hermoso who had a buy back clause of less than 10m. |

TheGoodJoe:Let me get this straight - are you saying that if and when Leicester wants to sell Nacho, City would activate his buy back clause or what? |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Earthquake1: 9:40am On Sep 04, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:Very funny @ the bolded, he has had EPL 4 goals in the last 3 years I don't think City cares about him and prospective buying clubs would be excited at getting him to a 50 million player valued again |
