TheGoodJoe:And I'm telling you that City can activate that clause today if they wanted to. They won't because they don't need him and Leicester are free to sell him for whatever amount. If they were any additional clause(s) they would have announced it. |

edi287:- If the player plays at least 60 minutes in 50% of all the matches- league, cups, European competition. Did you read this section in the article you posted earlier? There are conditions that goes with contracts. It is not happen like that, if not it will not take pages before signing. By the way, a buy back clause is like a loan system with transfer fees involved. The parent club still has a big say. That is why they can recall the player based on the conditions in the contract. |

edi287:A player that doesnt get game time doesnt get to show what he can do and so it does have everything to do with the 50m buy back clause. If you ask me, Iheanacho's career is a business transaction. Plain and simple. Even though he gonna be smiling to the bank, he aint gonna get the chance to show what he can do. I am just hoping this contract ends soon enough. Its time people advised our young players to steer clear big clubs so they dont end up in problems |

edi287:Manchester City will not bother or activate except; They want Nacho back for some reasons (which is not the case) Or, Leicester City wants to sell. Leicester City are not free to sell Iheanacho without first contacting City. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by edi287: 3:20pm On Sep 04, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:My God!! That is NOT mandatory for all sales with buy back clauses. City did not put those requirements as part of the sale. I already showed you an example in Hermosos move of a complex buy back clause. Nacho is simple and straightforward. 50m, no sell on clause. Shikena. |

kennysville:Thank you. Especially with the kind of lawyers the big clubs have at their disposal. Look at Angelino who was flourishing at City and attracting interest. City activated a buy back clause and dropped him on the bench. Although he is a cover in case Mendy's injury spree continues. |

edi287:Sorry but contracts are contracts. What you say there is an example of conditions inserted in a contract. No one said it is mandatory. I am telling you that you have to sieve through the pages of the contract to understand what we are dealing with. No contract, especially in a case like this is simple and straightforward. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 3:25pm On Sep 04, 2019 |
Earthquake1:If Leicester City wants to sell Nacho today, they must, I repeat must contact City in an official capacity. Leicester City agreed to the terms and conditions of the contract. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by edi287: 3:26pm On Sep 04, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:That is what I've saying since Na!! City will be contacted and asked if they want to activate the 50m clause. They'll most likely say no and Nacho will move on. Look at this part of the article I posted.... "and City have inserted a clause to buy him back for £50m. Leicester were happy to agree to the clause, as they will double their money in the event of the forward proving a massive hit in the East Midlands" Now why would Leicester want to sabotage the change of getting double their money in the event that Nacho does well? We are starting to go in circles with this |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Earthquake1: 3:30pm On Sep 04, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:Leicester notifying Man City is courtesy They can sell Iheanacho to anybody for anyprice they want because they have FULL rights to him |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 3:30pm On Sep 04, 2019 |
edi287:You are still missing it. 50m is if Iheanacho does well and clubs are will to sign him for over 50m. Leicester City will ask Manchester City if they want to collect him for 50m or the other club can collect him. City can reject or not. So now, Nacho is not doing well, due to Leicester City not giving him playing time. If a club comes with 10m to buy Nacho, do you think Leicester City will still ask for 50m? That is horrendously hilarious. No. I can bet that the buy back clause condition inside there would be 50% of the bidding price which will be 5m. It is a win situation for City. |

edi287:This case is very simple I wonder why TheGoodJoe is dragging it |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by kennysville(m): 3:31pm On Sep 04, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:And as I said earlier, it makes more sense for the guy to just see out his contract and be a free agent. At this current rate, the only way he can get sold is if there is a bid of 80mil where leicester gets the 50mil buy out fee and Man City pockets the 30mil on top. We all know thats not happening as he doesnt even have game time. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by edi287: 3:32pm On Sep 04, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:If there were such - we'd know of it. How did we then know of the details of Hermoso, Vela, etc contracts which were as complex as you say? Nacho's buyback clause is straightforward and simple. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Earthquake1: 3:34pm On Sep 04, 2019 |
kennysville:Man City don't have any rights to any profit made from Iheanacho's sale Their only part in the contract is activating the 50m buy back clause or not |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by edi287: 3:34pm On Sep 04, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:It's not if Nacho does well... It was just put by City as a safety measure. Madrid does this with many of their young players... It's normally hit and miss. There are no performance requirements for that clause. It's either city activates it or not when the time comes. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 3:35pm On Sep 04, 2019 |
Earthquake1:It is interesting to note that buy-back clauses are becoming more common than loan options. Try and read the article posted to understand the point. The clause means Leicester City does not have full rights at all. Buy back clauses is like an upgrade to the loan options. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by edi287: 3:36pm On Sep 04, 2019 |
Earthquake1:Exactly. Leicester will let Nacho leave when they want... Not because of City's buy back clause. |

edi287:Try and read the article you posted. It is impossible to not include performance clauses. If not the parent club can get cheated. |

edi287:You do not know the full details of the contract. The only way you can know is unless you or someone who has the contract and releases all terms and conditions. Read and understand the article you posted to get a clearer picture. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 3:40pm On Sep 04, 2019 |
edi287:At least read this excerpt and get the point. Buy-back clause is not that easy as it sounds. The main complication arises when the parent club wants to take the player back. But at what fee? Like I said above, the fee is decided before the deal happens, but it’s not that simple. There can be different sets of fees included in the contract. Below are a few examples of how certain clauses work, - If the player is bought back in the first two summer transfer window, the parent club would have to pay say the agreed fee. But every window after that, the club would have to pay an extra £5m. - If the player is called up by the national team, an extra fee would have to be paid by the club. - If the player is a striker and scores 10+ goals in the 38 league matches, then some extra fee would be included. - If the player plays at least 60 minutes in 50% of all the matches- league, cups, European competition. |

TheGoodJoe:This does not go for all buyback clauses!! Don't you get it? City can activate the buyout clause 5 years from now for the same amount!! It's in the contract! |

TheGoodJoe:WE knows the basics: cost of transfer and buyback clause. 25m and 50m. Nothing more, nothing less. |

edi287:That is why I said we need to sieve through the contract. The Author is putting these down to give us a window into how Buy back clauses work. It is not as simple as you guys think. That is what I have been singing all day. Now the conditions above are mainly due to the player doing well. They are conditions also for if the player is not doing well. It is not a letter Leicester City signed with Manchester City but a contract. Contracts comes with clauses, terms and conditions. Finito. |

Earthquake1:You are looking at it from a different angle. Lemme paint it for ya. A club approaches leicester to buy iheanacho, if the deal is in the excess of 50 mil, say 80mil. Leicester is obliged to notify City. If that happenes, the maximum that leicester can get from it is 50mil and no more. What happens after that is immaterial. If city dont need him, they will sell him @ the 80mil, this pocketing extra 30mil, recouping their money from the buy back clause. Hope u got the picture? Just as an example |
