There was no gang up. Trasha was the one who set herself up for repeated nominations due to her constant boasting of having an army voting for her outside the house so for Mike, he simply thought why not keep nominating her since she will always be safe. That was the most logical thing to do for a person like Mike who likes underdogs and wants to also give them a chance.
