Delta South: Uduaghan Reacts To Tribunal Judgment Sacking Manager As Senator by CGMedia: 10:33pm On Sep 07, 2019
Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the 2019 Delta South senatorial election, has reacted to the judgement of the Election Tribunal which sacked his rival, James Manager.

Reporters had earlier reported that the Tribunal, on Saturday, nullified the election of Manager of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as Senator representing Delta South in the National Assembly.

The Tribunal said the election was marred by irregularities and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return issued Senator James Manager immediately.

The three man panel presided over by Justice C. O. Onyaebo, in Asaba, the Delta State capital, equally ordered INEC to conduct a fresh election into the Delta South senatorial district within the period of 90 days.

But reacting in a statement obtained by reporters on Saturday, the former Governor of Delta State said the Tribunal should have declared him winner of the February 23 poll.

“While we are happy with the tribunal’s judgement which affirmed my party’s position that the election was rigged and characterized with electoral over voting, we are not entirely satisfied with the judgement as the tribunal ought to have deducted the excess illegal votes and declared me and my party rightful winner of the election.

“In view of this, we shall be challenging the tribunal’s judgement at the Appeal Court to declare us as the outright winner of the February 23rd, 2019 National Assembly Election for Delta South Senatorial District”, the statement partly read.

You may recall that Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan had dragged Senator James Manager to the Tribunal, arguing that the election was marred by fraud and irregularities.

What will Uduaghan say, is he not the immediate former governor of the state, he team up with his wife to steal that state dry and kept their loot in China, he decamped to APC and his sins were forgiven.
One of the challenge facing democracy in Nigeria is that the good candidates don't have the financial muscle to win primaries in any of the two major political parties so the electorates are left with the only option of choosing the lesser and higher devil.
James manager has been there for almost 16yrs yet no tangible constituency project.
My people we need to reform our electoral system or else we will continue to be stagnant while debts pile up for unborn generation.

This frog eye should keep quiet and continue to protect his loot in APC. Isn't that the main aim?

Uduaghan wants the senate seat but fears another election procedure, cos he knows he'll be defeated again.

Anyways, that's their business and his cup of tea.

In other words, Manager will still lose.

Fear Social Media campaigners. Some of them are not even behind the key boards. They just instruct some people that dont know nothing about the elections to type and click submit

That manager guy has been in the senate for decades, since the days of James Ibori, if you visit the constituency where he is representing, there is nothing to write home about, he should give someone else the chance.

It is like that because we don't have a honest pressure group that can mount pressure for constitutional reforms. One of the things we need to ban is that after been a govern, just leave politics until we build strong institutions...

Even our electoral system needs to be changed so that winning election will no longer be determined by north if we must continue this presidential system of govt.

Sadly, no Nigerian politician is a radical and honest radical. None. All they are after is their pockets. If u know how much Nigerian politicians pocket eh. Nigeria is gone for ever.

When Sowore called for revolution and I saw comments made by many Nigerians against the guy, I felt bad. I knew Nigeria was lost forever. My annoyance is that we don't have the zeal to fix our country but we want to migrate to countries and be allowed to do as we wish. No one way. I pray for more countries to treat our Bleep up bad bad. I have never seen people like Nigerians in my life. They don't want to take the risk to fix their country but want to go to another man's country to demand rights. Things they can't demand in their own country.

If two of them are square pegs in round holes then why do people continue to give them their votes like they are the only available options?? And that is a problem I still have with the so called patriots like Azikwe and Awolowo and others who fought for Our Independence coz they knew we are not ripe for self rule yet but because they were power hungry and wanted to hold the nation in their hands they rushed us into all these mess.. the whites should have dealt more with us for some more years
