Coming from the same fake guy who broadly called the NFF corrupt for inviting Maja, Asoro and Eze at the Barnett to train with the boys, just to give them that sense of belonging. No one takes u seriously no more boy, u are neither here nor there. U never saw nothing good in that move made by the NFF then, neither did u see anything good in the said boys, but, now they seem to be blossoming, u brought out ur shameless self looking for cheap glories. I got the Info from a reliable source yesterday and I felt so sad.

Even I was also informed that these kids are first noticed and scouted by the super eagles scounting network and once it is mentioned in the media the FA of their country of birth swoop immediately to invite them to their youth teams which is very attractive and lucrative for them to turn down.

The case of Eze, lookman, torunarigha, uduokhai, danjuma and recently Felix agu are case studies to this claim. If well respected FAs in world football can work hard in getting these kids to play for them why can't we follow suit? Imagine Italy tying Moise Keane down even when he is not proven inorder to wade of the lure of the Ivorian FA. Look at world champions France, kids of African ancestry made up 70% of their team that won the last world cup.
Hope your reliable source is not complete sport and those crappy naija football news sites?

A very unpopular opinion

I think Philip Chijioke Ejimadu (PCE) would have been a better addition to the Eagles than the model that has more likes & comments on the NFF's instagram page, than career clean sheets in the pitch as a shotstopper

why do you think we have poor leaders generally in this country? The mentality is everywhere. Only a few Nigerians stand out.

charlesemeka85:
It is disgraceful and dishearting to see few elements in this thread working so hard to bring division to current super eagles set up by labeling kids who has fundamental human rights as foreign born just because they were born and groomed abroad.

This nonsense should stop! This kids re equally Nigerians and I will even boast more Nigerian that so many of us here. This is the same nonsense that have been perceived in the nff technical committee which have slowed down the approach to get some of this kids who re good enough for our various teams.

I got an information yesterday why ebere eze's invitation to the national team have been delayed. I learnt the nff technical committee were agitating that Rohr is hell bent on infusing so many European born players to the super eagles at the expense of home grown talents and secondly that Eze is still unproven in the championship and for these reasons do not deserve a chance in the super eagles yet.

Rohr took notice of eze's qualities as a natural play maker when he trained with the team in UK few years ago and penciled him down as a possible replacement for aging John obi mikel but because of the fear of an outburst from the nff and football fans back home who will tag his team a team of 2nd Division players he had to delay the lads invite hoping he makes the leap to the epl or any top division in Europe.

Alot are happening behind the scene but Rohr have been very calm and as well handling issues professionally not to letting things out to the media.

It's high time we change this mentality of ours and accept this kids as our own notwithstanding where they were given birth in or groomed. Selection of players to our various national teams should be on an open ground where only the best will be picked to build a formidable team.

And to those with this mindset your hate is worst than racism!

You mentioned the core of the team. Please, what does core mean if not starters? Mind your choice of words next time. You don't seem to be getting the point. Plus a good number of them only recently got their first call-ups. So the idea that the core of the team is made up of 7 foreign-born/Foreign-trained players is quite premature. Are you selecting the core of the team based on the current crop of players invited? Let's see how many of these guys will be invited again in a few months. I have never criticized the invite of any of those lads apart from Maduka Okoye. My point is based on how well they can fit into the starting team that consists of mostly home-grown Nigerian players. How can they play well with the home-grown players? This is a somewhat intangible issue you are overlooking. Do not mention the word core, since some of these guys are yet to don the green color. We will see on Tuesday. We hope your so-called "saviour coach" shows up.
Earthquake1:
7 of the current SE squad(including Idowu and Maja) are foreign born and you are talking of starters

If they make up 1/3 of the team how has it not worked?

If you are talking about performances, none of them has disappointed except a few average performances by Idowu and thats it

How many foreign based players play for the French youth teams? Maybe we should play only home-based players so we can be exactly like them?

If I say France used home players to win the world cup and so Nigeria should follow suit u would say I was insane for comparing Nigeria to a country like France but here u people shamelessly bring up what is going on over there like it is a map of what we should be doing.

If we are running a no excuse policy then the coach should be equipped with the best possible options if not we should all hush up and judge the man for what his players do on the pitch and nothing else. Even messi has bad matches so it is very childish to cry about the players the coach selected simply because his team lost 1 nut.
We have a large pool of players for U23. Imama is simply being lazy.
Instead of the French U21 asking for Mbappe and Demobouz, what do they do? Invite Moussa Dembele, Jeff Adelaide, etc.
That is what Imama should be doing. Instead of waiting for Rohr to bail his ass out everytime, he should scout and find players.
This isn't rocket science. How can you be making excuses for this guy? This qualifier is taking place in a Fifa calendar FFS!! Ejuke, Okereke, Kingsley Michael, Dele Bashiru, Zubariu, etc could've easily been invited for the first leg.
But no... We want Osimhen and Samu to be flying up and down... Seriously? This is how players get burned out..
Imama should quit if he's not up for the task. Any coach worth their onions would be salivating at the prospect of coaching this U23 team.

You want more home-based players in SE? Fix the damn league.
What the Bleep is shit? Affirmative action or what? If all our best legs are foreign born - invite them.
Nigeria can be such a useless country at times. I tire for these guys...
