This translates to increased transport cost. More toll gates would be installed. Additional cost for all automobiles.

Hope cost of fuel will also drop since toll cost was factored into the price of fuel.

After the citizens have paid their taxes, the govt will now construct a road an install toll gates on them.

Spending little toll money on a good and smooth road that gets you to where you are going in little or no time is cheaper than spending hours on bad roads, wasting fuel money while siting on bad roads for hours and even spending extra money to maintain your car, trailer or truck because of
craters and port holes, besides, such roads reduces accidents and criminal activities.

Don't make it a penny wise pound foolish situation, think and reason outside the box.
Re: FG Hands Over Lagos-ota-abeokuta And Other Roads To Lagos State And Ogun State. by ithink7: 1:35pm On Sep 09, 2019
Ignorance.

Obasanjo removed all the toll gates because the money were been diverted into private pocket. His govt still had enough to clear Nigeria's debt and invest in infrastructure.
Tinubu is just trying to enrich himself at the expense of the Nigerian people and amassing more money to buy election in 2023.

sexiestharam:
It is better. I better pay for a good road than die on a free bad road. In short, let all Federal roads be commercialised. Most Nigerians won't mind paying extra to ply a good, comfortable and safe road.

Re: FG Hands Over Lagos-ota-abeokuta And Other Roads To Lagos State And Ogun State. by mandarin: 1:42pm On Sep 09, 2019
This is transferring graft consequences to the public. Govt. failures orchestrated by the elites are now gradually being shipped on the populace like the pharisees jesus condemned in the bible.
However, if the toll gate would not exceed 100naira per car then we can compare with current cost and to even do that is to be magnanimous with the government. It is the responsibility of government to fix roads and can toll alternative routes, these are not alternatives to me.
It's a tricky one but I think there's need for revolution in governance in Nigeria

They should put pressure on federal government to fix those roads or fix them and collect the money back from FG.

What future generations? The roads are income generating, just multiply whatever they are charging by hundreds of thousands of toll paying cars, trucks and trailers per day, I'm sure you'll arrive at over or around 1 billion per month, enough to pay it off in no time.

Besides, such roads attracts investments and developments which means money IGR down the road.

Why are Nigerian youths not broad thinkers? Given the opportunity to lead, I bet you people won't do anything.

If only we can all be conscious of the fact that, everything in this world is vanity and we shall die one day, Nigeria will be better than London.
Corruption has really eaten deep into the fabrics of our nationhood.

I really don't get their obsession with Tinubu, it doesn't matter what's written, they always find a way to turn every topic into their Tinubu obsession and fixation

Till today the FG is yet to pay back/refund the billions that most states have used to fix federal roads in their domain. Buhari himself knows this that is why he doesn't mind agreeing to this arrangement. The FG just doesn't have enough money to keep maintaining all the federal roads and it keeps costing lives.

You said Tinubu is not mentioned in the article. If you live in Lagos, you'll understand Lagos and APC politics.
Sanwo Olu is just an headmaster. Tinubu is the governor of Lagos.

I'm very close to APC govt in Lagos and I voted for Sanwo Olu. So believe what I tell you.

Nigerians pay little tax. State govt's should toll as many - practicable for the purpose - roads as possible and plough back into roads money raised.

Has Obasanjo not been a kingmaker for years now?
Both on the national and state level? until recently where his powers seem to be waning
EVERY politician has tried staying relevant but somehow everybody sees Tinubu,
From the Fayose to Omisore to Atiku to Orji to Oshiomole to Amechi etc
It is what it is,
