benji93:He's another clueless old man of a coach, you don't have to remind me of that irrespective of whatever result he grinds out tomorrow. He's still gon lose, he's made coward of his boys, you only see them show little bravery when they're a goal or 2 down. |

Why do they sack coaches if not mostly because of bad performances posted by team junnyjake: |

benji93:Unreasonable expectations for one. I followed the team back then when Ighalo was there, they were a mid table team at best, there hasn't been much of a positive change in their fortunes since his sack till his recent rehiring. |

junnyjake:They sacked a coach that took them to FA cup final and top half finish and appointed a coach they already sacked for poor performance ![]() |

But common bros, but a team mostly would only sack a coach for a string of bad performances. But i think the recently sacked coach posted better performances than the recently appointed coach. That was a rash decision, IMO- The season only recently started. The question is what kind of losses would warrant a sack? junnyjake: |

benji93:For a team coming out of relegation 2 seasons before his sack, they were doing pretty well. I gotta ask, were you following the team then? I don't have the strength to go about digging out stats to convince you. |

You people don turn me to Mr "stats", that's perfectly fine. I am a believer in logical and factual reasoning. Honestly, i was not following watford closely-i am admitting to that. Again the stats to my rescue. If you are referring to Flores', during his tenure in the 2015/2016 season, following their promotion from the championship, Watford was eventually placed 15th(45 points)- I will give it to you, why would you sack such a coach? : That was a decent performance by the team after securing promotion. Following some terrible performances, they appointed Javi Gracia, during Gracia's tenure, the team placed 11th(50 points), which we can argue was a better performance than Flores'- you can also include the fact that he got them to the fa cup finals, as someone indicated earlier. You can as well say it wasn't necessarily a better performance since Flores' era was just after a promotion. But to conclude the argument is that Gracia does not necessarily deserve a sack, cos it's too early too count their losses this early as an absolute failure. junnyjake: |

Yes, local academies spot and groom talented young stars than npfl clubs BascoVanVeli: |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by BascoVanVeli(m): 2:50am On Sep 10, 2019 |
charlesemeka85:I don't care who grooms them I would like to see more young players in the league. Honestly a 21 year old should not be owned by an academy. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Nobody: 3:19am On Sep 10, 2019 |
BascoVanVeli:At the bolded, Exactly. If he is lucky to secure a deal abroad, It is the academy that will get paid. NPFL clubs need to start developing young talents to sell on to bigger sides abroad. That could be a good business model for clubs instead of relying on government revenue. Imagine if NPFL clubs set up standard academies and sell off talent regularly. Belgian teams do the same. buy, develop and sell talent. |
